Unless they're doing it as a favour for the Jodrell gig and the Jodrell live cd/dvd I just can't see it being elbow.

A majority of the top 3 main stage acts Are usually bands you'd expect to see at academy size gigs, 2k to 3k capacity which seems traditionally to be in KCs price range, you're talking a massive leap in size to play and sell out arena gigs of 12k to 15 capacity. I know they're playing a few smaller venues at the start of their tour but they're just warm up gigs to tighten the show up before they hit the arenas.

I'm not saying it won't happen, I'd just be amazed if it did, plus it would be by far the biggest headliner they've attracted. Everyone's been carried away before over the last few years with predictions of who's playing and then you get confirmations of the charlatans and frank turner !

I think it will be a decent announcement, maybes an unusual one that isn't on announcement none else's line ups yet. Can't see the announcement taking that long now, they'll want someone to start and push ticket sales again

Its virtually the same line-up apart from Y-Not hasn't got De La Soul. Don't think Kendal would get away with having Dizzee again (even given how well his sets go down). And White Lies ain't big enough to headline (wouldn't rule them out of doing a sub-headline slot though)

As Suede are playing the Friday and Frank Turner the Saturday are they really gonna close with a dance act.

If it is a dancey type act that is gonna play the Sunday headline, which i personally hope it isn't, what chance the Prodigy playing?

I would be ok with the fratellis playing but don't think they're big enough to warrant a headline role, maybes main support act. Saw them live at glastonbury the other year and they were horrible live, hopefully they've got better with time !

    • Thanks so much - that's very helpful. Someone else mentioned getting a train from Loughborough to East Midlands Parkway, and then a festival shuttle from there to the site. I think they were then going to come back on the Skylink Derby to Loughborough - I assume this is because the trains don't run as late as the Skylink, otherwise they would just come back the same way they came?! Is the transport hub a long way from the main stage? Just wondering what time I would need to leave Linkin Park to be sure of getting a shuttle. As I say, I am sure it will all be clear on the day, even after a few beers! Just hope the rain stays away...
    • I really don't think they would put Olivia Rodrigo on Occident stage. If it was her, they would put her in earlier Mordor slot and move Big Thief or Little Simz to Occident.   Fontaines DC are more probable, but don't really match the hype. However, again, if the hype was real, the artist would end up in Mordor.   That being said, I would love to see Fontaines DC tonight.
    • After all the good advice on here I had a nice visit to the site earlier in the week.    Walked down from Pilton village to Hitchen Hill and down the footpath to the Wood by Woodies.    Really strange seeing the site empty of 100,000 people. There is far more hedges and woodland on the site than you remember when the festival is on. Can see the stone circle and some structures still up on site. And looks like Worthy View has some camping going on there during the summer too.   Lots was fenced off with electric fencing to help wth the cattle grazing. Is really amazing how they set up the site as its hard enough accessing the area by car and foot nevermind all the kit needed to set the festival up. As others said you can't walk the whole site but nice to see the site again after a few years away   Pilton is also a lovely village with a nice village hall shop and post office attached, and got to speak to some locals who told me a few tales of past festivals down the years. One house for sale there would be lovely to live in - if only I had £2 million going spare
    • 6music just shared a video of all of Fontaines DC singing along to the Cure last night. It'll be them. Booooo    Olivia might get up for I Love You though...
