Well I had a blinder at Reading Saturday, had a great run of bands, saw Marmozets, Slaves, Wolf Alice, Royal Blood, Seether, Bring Me The Horizon and finally finished off with the almighty Metallica! icon_tunes.gif

And to make it the best Metallica gig ever, my mate somehow blagged stage passes so if you watched it on the TV, I was one of the lucky bastards standing behind the band whilst they blasted through their greatest hits set for 2 hours, here is a couple of the pictures I took: (note I missed out on tickets to Glastonbury in 2014 despite getting them in 2013/2015 and was so so gutted when Metallica were announced so this more than made up for missing the glasto performance)

I'm still upset they didn't play Sanitarium.

I'm still upset I dropped my bloody camera ;)

Really enjoyed watching that Reading set. Doubly good as I didn't know/forgot it was happening and only came across it through being bored, deciding to look at Twitter and seeing a tweet from Gnomicide.

Took me right back and thought I was enjoying it more than the crowd looked like they were.

TV can be a weirdly deceptive thing when it comes to gigs but the Reading crowd seem much less up for Metallica than Glastonbury was last year.

Reading was only shown on BBC4 so there was a lot less motivation to look good for the cameras.

    • I think it will very much vary on who there is to book who they know will sell out a day.    They’ve co-headline and full headline stuff in future, there no reason at all they won’t do it again, even if it means cutting someone’s set by 15 mins or having a band less in a big bands day…   They’re not going to not book Foo fighters and instead get the equivalent of Florence and C&S just to not have a band do a big set…   …unless of course they think it will make them more money…
    • Maybe some right wing leaders like Meloni are just playing to their base, like Reform have been here talking about them ending up at Calais.
    • Citizenship via investment programs basically work by saying if you invest this much in our economy (say buy a property worth x) then we will either grant you citizenship or residency with a route to it. The EU has rules on how low countries can set the bar. Montenegro was one of the easier ones to get and they've had to tighten it up.
