Metallica did an acoustic set of covers at a charity gig on Tuesday, 3 of them of English artists. I reckon we could see at least one of these at G:

1. I Just Want to Celebrate
   (Rare Earth cover) (First time played live since October 28, 2007)
2. When a Blind Man Cries
   (Deep Purple cover) (First time played live)
3. In My Life
   (The Beatles cover) (First time played live)
4. Diary of a Madman
   (Ozzy Osbourne cover) (First time played live)

i reckon there's a far better chance that their crowd-friendly 'Glasto/BBC moment' is bringing Lars' good buddy Noel Gallagher out for something. that's my punt (and forgive me if someone's mentioned this on the previous 160+ pages)

Hopefully they won't play Whiskey in the Jar, but I have a feeling that they will.

They'll also want to make the set a big talking point so I can see them going for special guest appearances. Rodrigo Y Gabriela is an obvious one, jamming with Jack White on something could be a possibility too but considering Robert Plant is playing that day I can see them trying their hardest to get Plant & possibly Page too to perform a Led Zeppelin song with them.

When Metallica were originally being discussed well before Robert Plant was announced I initially thought I bet they get Jimmy Page to appear for a cover of a Zeppelin song.
