I'd be surprised if it was anyone other than Metallica, despite anything Neil has said, at any point, about anything, in this whole massive discussion.

Although if it is Prince, I'll be like wooh-yeah!

If they're making the hell stage much bigger this year (which I seem to recall they are.) Isn't there a possibility that that's where Metallica could end up? Forgive me if I'm being stupid.

No doubt you have all heard the news today that Metallica are to appear at this year’s Glastonbury Festival. It was only last week that the band were officially asked to headline the legendary Pyramid Stage and, in turn, they immediately asked Team Sonisphere what we thought about releasing them from their exclusive appearance at Sonisphere. Glastonbury is an institution and the pinnacle of performance for any artist in the UK and we know the band will be amazing!.

cleardot.gifBut remember Glastonbury is already a sell out and so the only chance to buy a ticket to see Metallica in the UK is at Sonisphere . We can’t wait!

Uh interesting article on the uhh sonisphere website...

This from their facebook page

We’ve made no secret that there was still one live music festival on our wish list that has eluded us... until now! It is with a great deal of pride that we announce that we have been tapped to headline the Pyramid Stage at the Glastonbury Festival on Saturday, June 28th! There is such a vibe at Glastonbury and it's maybe the most quintessentially English festival, so when we finally got that call to visit Worthy Farm, we just had to reply with a resounding “YES!”

Glastonbury is the largest green field festival in the world and over the forty plus years of its existence, a widely diverse group of artists have graced the stage including Paul McCartney, Oasis, David Bowie, U2, Muse, Stevie Wonder, Radiohead, Neil Young, Jay-Z and so many more. We’re psyched and honored to be among the first hard rock bands to hit the Pyramid Stage and join this prestigious group.

As this is a late addition to the schedule, this show will not be a “By Request” night... guess we’ll have to go back to writing the set list ourselves! For those of you looking for the By Request show or a second dose of ‘Tallica, we will be just down the road a week later at Knebworth for Sonisphere on July 6th, which we thought might be our only chance to visit the U.K. this summer until the Glastonbury call came in last week. Hope to see you at both!

    • You can judge who you want to get a high slot next with the Lolla headliner performances from the weekend. Cause people think Tate Mcrae is the best thing out there for some reason. And some other cool acts, plus you can laugh at how bad the camera work is cause disney is cheap.
    • Fontaines getting the honour of the last ever BBC Maida Vale session going out on 6 Music shortly.   No Glastonbury relevance (for now.. ), just thought I'd mention it for those who are interested 😎
    • Had a wonderful booking in one of our primary woodland venues this weekend. A 30th birthday arranged by a load of musicians and entertainment industry professionals. It was primarily a folk oriented event, however I noticed one young woman who didn’t seem to fit dress and appearance wise. Turned out to be Frenetic, one of the top up and coming UK Jungle and DnB DJ’s.    Anyway Saturday night turned into an EDM session and I got to do a set. Slightly nervous considering who was there, it was great and Frenetic loved my set. She’s closing Data Mine at Shambala this year.
    • they got lucky and the thunderstorms stayed away. It was still wet of course. Some of those boot sucking puddles did emerge from what a couple friends saw who were there.  Post fest aerial also below   and also a sapphic mud wrestling contest?
