Metallica is not something the casual listener will be able to tolerate. People will be streaming out of that field after 10 minutes of that din (if that).

What in a special Olympics way? The Other stage over the Pyramid is crazy talk IMO.

You dont get much more special than a massive pyramid shaped stage in a field in Somerset.

just the fact that it was one of the biggest acts in the world headlining the second stage at a festival. felt like quite a coupe that only Glastonbury could pull off (without it being some 'secret set' or whatever). though you're right, it will obviously be much better if they do headline the Pyramid (longer set, too, which means one or two more 8+ minute songs to squeeze in)

Yeah could be, which is why I said unlikely rather than it definitely ruling them out. Can never be entirely sure with R&L and how FR spin their exclusives from year to year. Tour dates don't seem to point towards Glasto either.

The "youth" audience it what keeps the festival going, although I'm not sure how much Metallica fit into that. Mumford, Kasabian and Arctics are more likely to appeal on that front.

What, by booking a band thats had a 30+ year career. Kerrang doesnt feature a Metallica special every issue you know.

The tone of it was spot on. It was that which made it the huge success it was.

The intro wasnt shown, I watched it live.

They cut to Zane low who was going nuts about the intro then it cut to the stage with Jay Z walking on with the guitar

I saw it on TV that year too. Awful shite. Decent intro or no decent intro. After the first verse of 99 Problems the gig is basically over.
