dentalplan
Slaves headlining FR would be really weak. I still dunno why Wilkinson would be so high on NME now either. Would definitely have to consider a fest with Modest Mouse, Pumpkins and DFA though.

Rose-Colored Boy
Ben Howard doesn't suit R&L at all and even if he did he 99% certainly wouldn't play the NME because he's arena-sized.

DFA aren't big enough to headline NME and Ben Howard wouldn't play as Zac said. The Prodigy are doing IOW so won't be there. I don't think either of Pixies or YYY's are doing anything in the near future. I have however been wondering if the festival will take a punt on Future Islands or The War on Drugs, who are both around at the time. Been boosting the hell out of both of them in the NME so they might have an R+L appeal now. I dunno.

Nah I don't reckon so. I thought either would play high NME or headline FR. St. Vincent's getting similar praise but I'll be surprised if she's still touring late August. Yellow_Fellow
DFA aren't too small for NME imo imo imo

Think The War on Drugs might be a bit too big for FR going by the venues they're playing.
dentalplan
DFA aren't too small for NME imo imo imo No but for headline they are. Similar tour and stuff last time and they were 3rd down. They're also not the Courteeners before you try that one. Yeah either sub/3rd NME or FR for Future Islands would be a good slot. Think The War on Drugs might be a bit too big for FR going by the venues they're playing. Yeah it does actually but I figured because it's R+L or something. I dunno but sub NME might be a goer. And hmm they were below a co headliner which is basically subbing ayyyy nah but really I don't think they're too big to sub but not too small to headline tbh

To be honest it wasn't a massively serious guess it was more a slightly unrealistic wish list, I do think that future islands will be there they have been announced for a couple of festivals in August as far as I'm aware, think they could go down a storm in the NME given the coverage they have had DFA I think could be a stick on for the headline slot, sub headlined the last time they played on one album, this album is a belter and they are definitely capable
