Just with a weak Reading year I could imagine some of the Reading goers in to heavier music may decide to go to Soni instead

I'm really happy with the headliners as I haven't had the chance to see any of them; largely to the fact that Reading have pulled me in every year with a couple of great, rare bands

There is no definitively weak and strong, just subjectively good and bad.

Of course Reading will lose people to Soni, and also to Download and V and T, but will get people from V and Download and IOW, and so on and so on, dependent on the line-up of each festival. It's what happens in such a competitive marketplace, as Soni flaking out for two years showed.

However I highly doubt Soni having Metallica and Maiden is going to be a nail in the coffin for Reading.

I don't think that'd be too bad at all. Probably wildly unrealistic though.
