The National

Serpentine Prison was a really good album and one I go back too often enough. Even if his ‘solo’ albums are just him singing with different friends it works for me.

Got tickets to London. I wonder if it’ll be just songs from these two albums or if he’ll throw one or two National deep cuts or some EL VY into the mix.

I think there will be a couple of cuts from The National, but I wouldn't expect them to be obvious ones.

Even just with Serpentine Prison out he didn't play any TN on that tour (at Gorilla at least, and unless I'm mistaken!), so I wouldn't count on it.

It looks like there should be an O2 Presale for Union Chapel but can't see it yet.

I’ve got some tickets to stuff at Union Chapel later in the year having never been. You can book a meal in the cafe and go in earlier than the standard doors time, anyone used this to get better seats?

Yeah I pretty much always do that when I go. There's basic food, which is cooked and served by people involved in the venue's charitable project - never great, but always a decent plate of food at a decent price and their charity is worth supporting - plus a bar, and you skip the big queue outside. There's an announcement when the doors open and everyone (maybe 40 people or so) then goes through a separate side door into the venue. This door opens (in theory) at the same time as the main door (occasionally there's a communication fail and it's a bit late), but you go straight to the front of the venue and can always grab a decent spot.

If you're in the main queue I think the views from the balcony area are much better than from the back of the ground floor and nobody ever goes up there until it's pretty full downstairs.

Never done it but never had a problem getting seats, I wouldn’t recommend sitting for longer than you need as they are very uncomfortable. You can’t bring drinks into the venue just in case you didn’t know

Does anyone remember how much he toured Serpentine Prison? I can't remember anything about it and would have just blamed it on the timing around lockdown, but Google's not helping either really...

Similarly any clues on prices for the trio gigs, presume they'll be around the same as the already announced ones?

The Brudenell sells Space Raiders, so if anybody wants to lob a few packets on stage at Matt's feet to inspire Space Invader as a song, we can try our darndest.

I was planning on nicking their Ice Machine ❄️😂

    • Just logged onto the app to start planning my days and there really are a LOT of stages missing. Apart from the Seaside Stage there is no Casemates this year etc. Apart from the Seaside Stage, there are no Casemates this year, etc. Can't see anything about the kids field really. And there's local acts that are normally there like Kojak's Revenge that aren't appearing either.  Normally we get down fairly early but I can't see anything before 3pm I'm keen to see. Only one real clash as well, which is good, but it's thin and it's not thin in the sense of "I've seen a lot of these acts before"
    • Lifelong Carlisle United supporter here.🤦‍♂️ Good luck for the coming Season and see you in October!
    • Any other lower league/non-league supporters on here? It’s all change at my team, Aldershot Town. We’ve released 25 players and the new manager has brought in 21 or 22 completely new players. Going to be an interesting gamble.   There’s a little video here on the reasons why:
