In the next village to Shepton Mallet the locals clubbed together to buy their local shop, which the owners could no longer keep going. It was a big ask, but they managed to do it among themselves because so many of the elderly locals depended on it. Michael heard about it and straightaway stuck his hand in his pocket and bought them a brand new van to collect their stock in.

Every time I hear about his little (or big!) acts of spontaneous kindness, we know exactly why this has become the best festival on the planet - it's born and bred from the heart, not the wallet! Never mind knighthood, the man is already a saint.

On a side note, I can never understand why Michael hasn't been Knighted, for his services to British culture and global charity at least?

Does he work inside the establishment?

Does he give bribes to political parties?

There's your answer.

And perhaps, if being a little more charitable to the establishment, Michael would be regarded as anti-establishment. so that, at the outside, is the reason.

Did you think they were given on merit or something?:wacko::lol:

You'd think he would be at MBE at the very least but I guess like said ^^ the charities he chooses are anti establishment with the exception of Wateraid and Oxfam.

It's really impressive isn't it? I'm working on a way to have it blown up into a large poster. The only stumbling block is that I don't know how to transport a copy of the image (or it's details, or whatever it is that you do) to a photo website that does such things. I've sent an email to someone asking for their guidance on this but haven't yet heard back from them.
