I know - but hope is a cruel thing ;-). I'd be happy to work - I'm an old lady now past my partying prime so 6am litter picking starts don't bother me at all - but from what I can gather from years on this board, worker spots are hugely over subscribed...?

i think the reason we all feel so crap is basically this modern internet age. We all now think at a click of a button we can get anything we desire and when it does not happen we just cannot compute it. Its like some people are not even getting anywhere near it. I last got tickets on the phone 10 years ago! In 1992 i queued overnight in the rain for U2 tickets at Earls Court i wonder how many people that have tickets today would be prepared to do that for Glasto....maybe it should be an option..all those people that say if you want to go enough you will, is infuriating - well ill volunteer if i can find a company that will let me bring my kids on the pass (i believe some do)

I would not agree with your words ' from what I can gather from years on this board, worker spots are hugely over subscribed... ' - they may be if you get your timing wrong but its easier than you think.
I have been a Volunteer for the past 25 years so while its highly likely I will have a place its not guaranteed.
Since I became a volunteer I have never applied for any tickets even although I normally will not find out until March if my Team and I have places.
Whichever vacancy you go for keep in your head its a short window so you cant hang about .
I have a rough list on my server - its not meant to be a comprehensive list ' its only a starting point '

I've often thought that 20,000 tickets at 50 locations around the UK, 400 tickets per location and 1 ticket per person should be an option. I'd happily queue up in advance and with a wristband system you would know if there were already 400 people in front of you.

Is it just me, or does there seem to be way more efesters than normal who appear to have failed this year...?

Bad luck to everyone that didn't get through. If its any consolation I've tried in resales for people over the last 5 years and have been successful every time. There's still hope.

Was discussing the old way of getting tickets with my Dad whilst headbutting the keyboard earlier. Back in the 90's I remember queuing all night for tickets for football games, he did the same in the 70's. Not sure that it's any fairer though. Those with kids / those less able etc have just as much a right. Maybe a split of some sort.

Sympathies to those that didn't get any. As it's been said on many occassions here, those that are prepared to perservere tend to get there in one form or another eventually. I've been lucky in a resale and the missus has been lucky in mini sale. It can be done!!

Despite using two PCs and phones we didn't even get a sniff. Am obviously disappointed but have had such good luck in the past that it's hard to feel gutted! The irony being that we managed to get a coach ticket for a friend last week with relative ease, but held off for ourselves because we wanted to use the National Express coach again. Oh well

I view this as an opportunity to do something else instead. Might be the year we finally go to WOMAD or Number 6 (or perhaps both!)

there is no way physical queuing is ever going to happen, i wish people would stop going on about it to be honest. no one in today's society has the time to queue for however long it would be to actually get a ticket. you have the trouble of policing and providing for a queue of people that is quite frankly needless.

at least the way it is, its an hour or so out of your life in the comfort of your own home and within that hour to 2 hours its a yes or a no.

More and more gutted with every passing minute. My only relief has come from planning other trips for next year. Boomtown will definitely happen, Sziget may well do, too. What are the rest of you going to do, by way of compensation?

mildly frustrated given that I confirmed payment details about 9 or 10 times yet didnt get tickets but hey ho, ive managed to get tickets for the past 2 which were my first two, so hopefully my two tickets went to some other first timers who will have a great time.

Looks like i'll be going abroad on holiday instead next year, so every cloud etc

i got a ticket via a friend but due to See limiting it to 6 tickets per order instead of 8, 2 of our long term group didn't get tickets. between 8 of us we only got one bite of the cherry and that timed out and took bleddy ages..

so now those of us even with tickets feel bereft. we are going to storm See come the april resale.

this is the first year since 2005 that i've not gotten a booking page up and bought for someone.

I am definitely bereft. Don't think I've fully accepted yet and have a lot of blind hope for the resale. I'd be up for working to be honest but presumably you have to sign up for it way before the resale?

I'm even more gutted because I got a ticket for a friend in the coach sale! We're going from different locations but kicking myself for not just putting my number in then :(

We were in two groups and one got through. Happy for them but devastated. Could barely get the holding page, let alone refresh it! I don't think I seriously doubted I'd get them. Arse.

@ Rebbecca, Know how you feel, missed out last Oct but got them in resale. I'm sure with the offers of help around that you'll get there :)

i kinda know Janet and Phil on fb so may see what slots they have, if my other half lets me go as id have to leave my other half and the kids behind. i know some organisations will give passes to peoples kids if they are in a group of volunteers on a varied shift pattern but im guessing WBC is not one of them
