505 is a decent song. Think they should close their main set with it and then A Certain Romance at the end. Here is my ideal setlist:

Do I Wanna Know

Brianstorm

Don't Sit Down

Teddy Picker

Arabella

Crying Lightning

Evil Twin

This House is a Circus

I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor

She's Thunderstorms

Mad Sounds

Fake Tales

Pretty Visitors

R U Mine?

Do Me a Favour

Fluorescent Adolescent

Old Yellow Bricks

Ritz to Rubble

505

Cornerstone

Mardy Bum

Suck it and See

When the Sun Goes Down

A Certain Romance

Would love My Propeller, but can't really see a place for it. Obviously some positioning changes, but those are the basic songs I would love to see.

EDIT: Looking at it, it's far too heavy on FWN at the end.

This would be nice (for me):

Do I Wanna Know?

Brianstorm

Don't sit Down

Teddy Picker

Crying Lightning

Snap Out of it

Knee Socks (w Josh Homme)

Dance Little Liar (w Josh Homme)

Fake Tales

Brick by Brick

Arabella

Pretty Visitors

I bet you look good

From Ritz to the rubble

Mad Sounds

Cornerstone

Flourescent adolescent

Why do you only call me

R U Mine

505

Love is a laser quest

Suck it and see

Jeweller's Hands

A Certain Romance

Mardy Bum

Been listening to AM a lot. I really like it. Initially I thought it was poor because it lacked a killer tune that I had not been exposed to before. But taken as a whole album, it is almost perfect. Do I Wanna Know and R U Mine? are both fantastic, and then Arabella and Fireside are particularly strong album tracks. The album has such a cool groove. Who would have thought that the band who released Whatever People Say I Am would end up releasing this. I think it demonstrates Turner's prowess (genius is used too lightly) in song writing is really shown in this album. As the NME said, this is not the peak. They still have plenty more to come. I look forward to what they have yet to produce.

The one disappointment is I Wanna be Yours. I think it is poor for a closing song by the Arctics, especially compare to Certain Romance, 505 and That's Where You're Wrong.

I was having a think today at what would be my ultimate Arctic's setlist (within reason, I didn't include Bigger Boys And Stolen Sweethearts, Nettles or Cigarette Smoker Fiona as they won't play those ever again imo) , so here it is:

Do I Wanna Know?

The View From The Afternoon

Brianstorm

Don't Sit Down Cause I've Moved Your Chair

Still Take You Home

One For The Road

My Propeller

Fake Tales Of San Francisco

Crying Lightning

This House Is A Circus

Arabella

The Hellcat Spangled Shalalala

Dangerous Animals

I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor

Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High

Do Me A Favour

Dance Little Liar

Mad Sounds

From The Ritz To The Rubble

Fluorescent Adolescent

Mardy Bum

R U Mine?

When The Sun Goes Down

505

Leave Before The Lights Come On

That's Where You're Wrong

No.1 Party Anthem

A Certain Romance

A few major oldies/rarities in the like From The Ritz To The Rubble and Leave Before The Lights Come On, and some personal favourites such as Dangerous Animals and My Propeller. I personally prefer The View From The Afternoon as an opener, like The Strokes opening with Is This It, I think it's cool starting with track one from their debut, but Do I Wanna Know? has looked great everytime I have seen it open their gigs this year on TV. I definitely think they should go back to having A Certain Romance as the set closer though.

I love how people are adding songs into the set list which they've dropped years ago.

To save the grief, take their glasto set list, take out about 4 songs and put in new ones and that's what their future set lists will be. I'm sorry but songs they've never really played live aren't just going to magically appear on future set lists.

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. They'd be better off playing somewhere like Other sub, but I could see the G getting them to play a smaller stage while it's still possible
    • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
