You do know IOW and Download are the same weekend right ;)

Also cheers for that info Kaos, I'm looking at volunteering festivals too and I was thinking between T and trees but I may apply for trees now

If you're savvy about it you can get to/from places quite cheap- I got to Reading this year for less than 15 quid because I booked the train ticket early & used a rail card (although admittedly I didn't get a return), and I got a coach home to Brighton from Notts for under 20 quid the other day :P

Isle of Wight and Bestival are always bloody expensive to get to though, no matter what. I sometimes wonder how they manage to sell well enough when you factor in the coast of the ferry/hovercraft.

Yeah the only reason I went to IOW was because I had to travel to Southampton to move out of my uni halls so I only had to pay for the ferry

Spent so much money there though, mainly as the festival is so boring I went shopping in Newport town centre to pass the time

They market the festival as having more going on than just the music but there's probably less to do there than R&L; all of the stalls are basically dodgy fairground attractions marked up about 50%

Also the undercard is atrocious; before 6pm it's all major label sponsored detritus and John Giddings' mates

I was considering going to see X-Men at the cinema in Newport on the Friday, that's how bad it is

Your not savvy! I've told you guys lots of times, go on the train, book the ticket to Ryde & you get the passenger ferry included. Don't pre book anything! It was £60 this year from Leeds! Edited by Couchy
