Lineup 2015

I hope arcade fire are in the mix next year, doubt they will be but it will make the premise abit less depressive. Already seems like a year where we are scraping the barrel.

I think Hyde Park is their last UK Reflektor show. Babyquack may be able to verify that.

hehe, yep it is. The band want to come back at some point to do some larger Scottish/northern shows and it's thought that winter may be a time to do it but as of the start of this month, nothing had been done to work this out in any capacity.

Well it sorta does because this set is very good (bar the lack of Neon Bible of course...)

But then I think we all knew that would be the case anyway

But like. They're already headliners here. This set hasn't changed anything - they're proven at Reading. It's hardly off the back of it, rebooking them wouldn't be a response... it's hard to explain.

Err, I think he was just saying he wants them to headline, rather than trying to justify their size...

To be fair, if the arctics didn't get so much hype from glasto I imagine reading wouldn't have jumped as quickly to book them.

Arcade Fire are cracking but I doubt they'l be back next year

lucky has already alluded that download aren't after metallica next year - which may point to reading being in the frame. Or no UK festival at all, never know.

Could you imagine Metallica making no UK appearance next year?

I can imagine them not doing any festivals and just doing a large arena tour for a change off the back of a new album. The only fest I could see them doing is reading, but I'd say it's still pretty unlikely

It would seem very excessive, as they were only drafted in for glastonbury as they were in the area at the time and hadn't done it before. No special reason they were booked at all

Them being at reading next year would really feel like they were over doing it.

I'd say Metallica's booking is the most special reason out of all three of this years headliners though; they've always wanted to do it, first heavy rock band to play and they're one of the biggest british bands of all time.

yes but if that's the reason why, then there's no reason for any other festival to book them off that performance

    • Interesting to read. It's mostly why we stopped going a few years back even though it's the nearest big festival to home. The post-exams timing and location makes it a rites of passage first festival for people in a big area. Understandably that leads to a bit of giddiness. Think lineup would need to be a lot more my cup of tea to be enticed back. Friends who are there are having a good time tho and no rain is a good thing for up there.
    • I honestly didn't know it had, I still thought it was where the view overlooked the lake and view.   I think my decision not to attend this year at least was justified. Biffy was the big draw but after Finsbury I knew they wouldn't play what I want to hear again and well work also got in the way. Believed interesting to hear if Libertines were any good as they were also a pull but Sunday did nothing for me really with all my acts on Friday and Saturday.
