Mick jagger / bbc coverage

Only just found out that the bbc are only showing the first hour of the Stones set at glastonbury this year.Something about Mick Jagger thinking its wrong to show the gig to the public sitting at home when people have payed money to see them. (Correct me if i am wrong) ,but the festival sold out before any bands were announced and all previous headliners performances have been shown in full. I was fortunate enough to get a ticket this year thousands haven't,and will be watching at home. What a bummer it will be for Stones fans who couldn't afford to pay the massive price for the tickets of their last fill my bank account tour. I like a lot of their stuff ,they have had some great songs over the years, but are shocking live(seen them in the 80's and they were shite ) i will be giving them a miss but do feel sorry for genuine fans who were expecting a full show.

It's better than nothing!

At the end of the day, tickets went on sale back in October, the stones were highly tipped to play back then, so any fan who wanted to fork out £200 on a risk could have easily done so! They could have easily not got them and they'd have seen Nothing... likewise if theyd have gotten their way, viewers would have seen none of it!

It's a bonus to see anything in my eyes!

I seem to remember one year where Green Day didn't allow any of their set to be shown at all ( no great loss).

I guess if I was at home I would be annoyed if only a bit of a set was shown, but an hour is quite a lot. Most glasto sets are this long anyway.

Yeah its nowt new, There was about 45 minutes of Blur that were not shown on the telly - including Coffee & TV with the people in fancy dress in the crowd.

They will probably have a glasto dvd lined up.

Who's arsed anyway?

Go and watch them for ten minutes. half an hour, or the full set..you've still seen them.

Tick them off the list.

there was a reasonable degree of fuss about blur's set being cut

i think an hour is pretty damn good. people are used to getting whatever they want at the press of a button. it's a healthy reminder that glastonbury is actually a thing you can go to, with no restrictions on how much of the headliner's set you can watch. if the total saturation of glastonbury across the BBC isn't enough for some people, perhaps they should consider buying a ticket.

i cant believe anybody could be disappointed with this news.

If i hadnt got lucky in the ticket stakes id be pretty chuffed to be on my sofa with a beer watching stones (likely in HD) for an hour .All in my license fee.I honestly think the BBC have done well getting the band to agree to this.

Ill be as close as i damned well can and watch the whole set and think of all my mates back in Aberdeen who will never ever get the chance to see this band in their chuff without selling their bloody granny to get a ticket .

Plenty of acts do it, in recent memory Rage Against The Machine, Eminem and The Stone Roses have all banned their sets being shown live. Fair enough in these cases it's because they're releasing DVD's or are egotistical bastards but no one really cared.
