Muse played years ago without their bassist a years ago (before they were bug headliners) but i heard they struggled.

If i were him i'd want my bandmates to play though - this and bonnaroo are pretty pivotal to them.

If glasto do need a new headliner i'd go for kasabian (if hrc don't block it) - someone stepping up wouldn't be good as the fest had already acknowledged them as less then headliner this year. Kasabian (though average) are clearly headliner size and would jump at the chance - we're probably destined to have them at some point so nows as good as any (i wouldn't be there).

If that isn't just them reading the initial press release then it suggests that the blood clot was either operated on a while back and we only now know about it or that it was never as serious as it seemed. There's no way he could already be cleared to play in less than three weeks if he had brain surgery this week.

From this perspective, either;

a - he's not that important/integral to their sound/vibe etc

or

b - theyre concerned that this is a real "moment" for them that won't come again next year

or

c - he's already out of the band and won't make a rescheduled gig next year or whatever on health grounds

Can't see him agreeing with "a" & think theyre naive if "b" is the case.

Just found this article (of the daily record=> don't know whether they're good or not),saying:

I'm not feeling this. Were I in his shoes, I'd want the band to continue the tour and play the dates. Don't think it would make them callous or cynical or anything. He's not dead or owt, just going to have his feet up watching it on the telly.
