I think its just an art installation, like what they had with the cars on the side years ago, I doubt it is anything to do with any act, the festival has said they have had more freedom with the site and stuff maybe this is just a way of them expressing themselves

Why does it matter if its a bird or a phoenix? I think the Rolling Stones would be the most likely to ask for something extra more than mumfords which are admittedly boring and wouldn't ask for interesting things. Guess you guys that are going will find out :-D

not sure what a phoenix / bird would have to do with the Rolling Stones so i doubt they personally asked for it - have they ever had any kind of bird / phoenix set piece / mascot type dealy?

surely just an installation. maybe it'll 'do' something / be utilised, and obviously if for anybody, The Rolling Stones, but maybe not

I think a Phoenix is a mythical flaming flying animal, so yeah pretty much a fiery bird. Of it was to be used by anyone I can't see it being someone lower down the order, so maybe just one of the headliners most likely stones. If it breathes fire then great, if its lights then nice, if it blows bubbles then oh how fun...

I couldn't see it being for the stones.... why on earth would they want a bird? a massive tongue golden "ego circle" sounds more probable... but a bird? do they have any history of Artistic birds at concerts? same with Mumfords? I think everyone is reading too much into it and its just there to make it look a bit different

He said that it will stay dormant until the opening track by the stones, then it will come to life. It rears up , flaps and breaths smoke and fire. Little Red Rooster maybe? It will also be used on the Sunday as well.

He was in very good spirits sitting in his Landy with his grandson next to him in a baby seat........One day, Grandson all this etc :)
