I am very intrigued to see where and when he is playing. The strength in depth of this lineup makes it very clashtastic and Im hoping he aint up against someone I "have" to see.

My wish is for an early evening slot in Acoustic (never going to happen)

What I realistically would like is to see him in a decent slot in JP so long as they have the sound right!

Saw him last month at the roundhouse, really was great, and looking forward to seeing him at EOTR later in the summer. He's proper quality.

He's a proper performer - knows how to engage an audience - a rarity these days.

Would hate to see him wasted on an early Pyramid slot and would love to see him headlining West Holts or The Park.

In any case very good news!

I've got my issues with the Pale Green Ghosts album as I'm sure I've mentioned, but chamber orchestra arrangements of the best bits will be absolutely worth the candle.

Makes a change from seeing him on his jack jones in an Edinburgh pub just accompanying himself on a wee keyboard.

Got tickets to see him at RSC in Stratford the Sunday before Glasto. Just to get me really in the mood. I'm really interested to see how he goes in that venue - very exciting, if that's a term you can use about John Grant.

Surely James Blake will embark on a similar kind of tour in those types of venues later in 2014 though? I just desperately hope John Grant isn't wasted on one of the two main stages.

I imagine that he's playing the Sunday, four days in a row seems a bit much.

Given the venues he's just announced for his UK tour in November, I'd say chances of him playin The Park are now beyond remote:

Usher Hall is pretty much where Other Stage Headliners and Pyramid Subs play.

This is exciting! Really tempted by the Royal Festival Hall date.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
