When Will, Jackone and the science appear about 6 weeks or so before the festival this thread starts to become the most interesting (and nerveracking) on efestivals. Its now at one of those crucial stages. models getting more reliable but still enough variance to keep us on our toes.

For me it started innocently enough.

One year a group of us decided to look at the weather thread for a laugh.

I was shocked by all this new language of ECM and Hz Model runs.

Didn't really understand what was going on.

After that I said I would t look again.

Then, in 2005, I heard a rumour of a disastrous weather event taking hold of the south with a cell moving up from France.

Excitedly I googled this and found myself in a strange world where a website could actually show you in real time where the lightening strikes were.

Before I knew how to stop myself, I found myself annually lurking in the netweather forums from early April, looking for some comforting signs that all will be good. It's the heroine of weather and I just don't know how to get myself off it.

I even been guilty of telling my friends it's safe and I can stop it at anytime.

Unlike that other thread which is just weather crack.

My productivity at work has nosedived, as every single task I do is followed by a look on here!

Just looked at that thread for first time after popping in here and reading the comments about it. This forum is basically like a microcosm of any society which has automatically evolved to divide itself into science Vs random praying!

Science has it's place but so does blind optimism. Cant we all just live as one?
