That changed since earlier this afternoon, looking at bit shady on Saturday and Sunday now :( , though ok on Wednesday setting up which is good, at least after that we can manage the weather. Don't like thunderstorms though, Mick will not be happy!

I recently chatted to a weather big wig on this exact subject. Don't put too much faith in any specific forecasts until around 3 days before; even then they're subject to change.

A 14 day forecast isn't worth the paper that they're not written on.

Wouldn't worry about the thunderstorms too much. Just because there's a chance of them doesn't mean they will be over the site; due to their convective nature it's very hard to predict even on the day itself where exactly they will strike, let alone a fortnight out.

100 pages at least, there's still over a fortnight to go so plenty of time left!

The models that drive the forecasts change every 6 or 12 hours hence why they change regularly.

As a lot of people have mentioned it's to far out yet to take any real notice.

I distinctly remember in 2010 not being sure on the Wednesday morning if the nice weather was going to last the festival and look how that turned out. Going the other way, 2011 changed right up to the Friday when they forecast the heavy rain we had that afternoon/evening.

Over on the netweather forums they're debating how varied today's 6am and midday runs were for 19th June and that's just over a week away so it's all to play for at the moment

    • On the Wet Leg crowd - the opening day always has the worst crowd of the festival. A lot of locals show up purely because it's a cheap evening, often with not much interest in the acts performing, so, while the talking is an issue throughout the festival (and increasingly at gigs/fests everywhere) it's particularly rough on the Wednesday every year. I'll only bother next year if I really like the act playing.  The wristband is basically a souvenir these days, which I like, as I keep them. Also I guess for the festival it's kind of cheap advertising as people walk around the city with them on.
    • Hoping the day splits will be included with whatever the secret is.
    • They will search bags going from the campsite into the festival site. How thoroughly they do that varies greatly from one security person to the next. If they find any cans they probably won't confiscate them, but more likely they'll offer you the option of drinking them there and then or taking them back to the campsite
