I was informed by a completely awful source (Some festival veteran who had a few drinks)

Said that's it them three... Don't really believe him however I could see it happen.

I think Avenged are pretty much nailed on now... still not quite into nickleback rumours.

However pearl jam seem active enough to make future tour bookings.

Without wanting to offend fellow Pearl Jam fans, Nickelback and PJ are too similar to both headline Download. Same with Nickelback and Foo Fighters. I know it's not set in stone that Nickelback are headlining but if they do, I don't expect to see PJ on the poster too.

I still think it's gonna be Guns N' Roses.

blink ain't subbing for shit. If they won't sub R&L, they ain't subbing download and they are a mile apart in size in the uk from other other subs. Hell they are a mile apart in size most likely from one of them headers

I was hoping Download would get Nine Inch Nails, Pearl Jam and Tool. Then I realised I probably won't be able to go due to exams. If they do have Nickelback and A7X, I'm glad I can't go.

As was said above, Pearl Jam and Nickelback are too similar (I say this as someone who loves Pearl Jam and hates Nickelback), especially seeing as they're not 100% suited to the festival. If it was two metal bands that were similar it'd be fine.

I'm struggling to think who it could be along with Nickelback and A7X. For me, Pearl Jam/NIN/Tool would be most likely if Tool have new material out, but it would be incredibly weak with Tool or NIN, and I've said above why I have my doubts about Pearl Jam.

I suppose there's then the chance they get someone unexpected like Van Halen/Aerosmith/GnR, or book Metallica or Sabbath back. I do think Slipknot should have been saved until this year.

Then again, there's always Def Leppard.

I really think Blink would only headline Download, and they would be a decent new headliner at that.

I may be being optimistic, but I think Tool will be one of the headliners next year. With Avenged seemingly a shoe-in to headline, I agree that Nickelback and PJ are too similar to have in the same year. Tool will be the older heavier rock band they seem to have every year. Plus, Avenged and Nickelback doesn't look too strong, but if you add Tool in it becomes a lot stronger.

Unsure about other countries but tickets for Blink arena tour of the uk after R&L completely flew out in no time. The did two dates at brixtion/cancelling one of them due to whatever reasons but they had done a bloody lengthy arena tour.

Tool seem like the band that just aren't going to happen but they'd be a bigger deal than NIN.

Can't say much on Nickelback and PJ, I'm very much in the boat of liking just a couple of songs from each or I say like, I can listen to. I'd never even think of buying a ticket to a gig for either.

Van Halen are just too unreliable - they cancel gigs where they actually probably don't mind playing, let alone here. Aerosmith would be good I guess, not for me but I still think HRC if at all and Guns without the original ain't getting booked. I don't think AC needs to have the headline, Download books very controvertial headers in Nickelback who get bottled to fuck, A7X and Guns and roses who turn up an hour late to a lack lustre crowd by then.

I said from the start that Download were having Slipknot one year early that's why I told mates I couldn't see it happening, clearly they were bought in last minute due to a band pulling out but AC's ego won't admit that

Why won't they book GnR? Don't say 'because Andy said so' please..

Download has a classic headliner every year. Although the others that Will suggested (Aerosmith, Van Halen and Def Leppard) are definitely viable but GnR have an advantage with a new album coming out.

he specifically said he won't with the lineup now and download i can imagine really being the place that won't in in favour of it? There has been plenty of opportunity for AC to book them and he hasn't. It's been more than once that he said, original lineup yes, this one no.

saying metallica is a poor booking due to touring too much isn't actually saying he won't book them.

i think booking leppard would be a disaster, their turn out wasn't great in 2011 and why would it be 2 years after being booked from the last time. not even metallica is that frequent.

I just don't take his word on anything. Maybe that's just me but he will have to book someone of that ilk. Def Leppard (three years since, by the way) would be a terrible booking and them as a third would be crippling but I consider them more likely than Pearl Jam or Foo Fighters because of what is already booked.

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. They'd be better off playing somewhere like Other sub, but I could see the G getting them to play a smaller stage while it's still possible
    • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
