If Biffy sell out day tickets at Reading I have a feeling Gazza will explode. Like, literally pop like a balloon. It seems his life purpose since they were announced has been to spread the word that Biffy Clyro are not - I repeat, ARE NOT - a headline sized band.

What's Download if it isn't a metal festival lol?

Reading Festival is a indie pop/rock festival, and now has stages dedicated to dance etc. It is now randomly a indie pop/rock dance/rap, bit of grime festival?

I think the 3 headliners kinda define what it is! Last year, two metal, one with a heavy metal based following.

No, I said Leeds. I didn't say Reading won't, I said at this rate, it'll need downgrading to a single site again, geez!!, how many times!

So it can be that black and white with Biffy really, the others have sold, they are £45/50 each upwards a ticket, Biffy haven't.

And you're last bit is why some people questioned them getting a headline spot anyway, they'll now go on and do more uk dates, and as much as I'll go, they'll be over-exposed again.

Indeed, not to mention the sub headliners: Zwan, Sum 41, Garbage, Velvet Revolver (twice), Funeral For a Friend, Evanescence, Incubus, Jimmy Eat World, Whitesnake, Them Crooked Vultures, Stone Temple Pilots, The Darkness, Chase & Status, Biffy Clyro, Soundgarden, Queens of the Stone Age & 30 Seconds to Mars... none of which are "metal" bands.

Yet another case of Gaz putting his foot in his mouth & revealing he knows fuck all about fuck all. :banghead:

2008 had Kiss, The Offspring and Lost Prophets headlining, non of which I'd call metal, so what sort of festival was it that year!?

And if you take a look at past headliners, what you're saying doesn't add up

Metal headliners

Iron Maiden

Linkin Park

Metallica

Black Sabbath

SOAD

Tool

Slipknot

RATM

Rammstein

Non metal headliners

Audioslave

Feeder

Guns N' Roses

My Chemical Romance

Kiss

The Offspring

Lost Prophets

Faith No More

Def Leppard

AC/DC

Aerosmith

The Prodigy

I make that 9 metal bands that have headlined, to 12 non metal bands. So I'm not entirely sure where you get this notion of Download being a metal festival, with metal headliners, from.

I wouldn't even call some of them metal either. Also from the official Donwload site..

"The Download Festival is the UKʼs premier Rock Festival.

A mammoth 5 day rock event, based at the spiritual home of rock - Donington Park."
