Hello!

Been lurking on the forum for a while but off to Glasto for the first time this year. Can't explain how excited I am, especially as it is part of my honeymoon!

Anyway, my question is about whats open/goes on/best places to see on site on the Wednesday and Thursday night's.

Thanks for your help!

There's not much laid on entertainment on weds night, most bars are open, all food and you might find some which are playing music, but it's a great time to wander, chat and generally recover from your journey. Pretty much everything is going by Thursday, bar the main stages. Have fun!

wednesday is all about chilling... meeting new people... having a look round the site, being in awe of a million and one things going on... go to the cider bus... find random things, there are a few things going by the night time but everything kicks off on the Thursday, some of the smaller stages may have things on, won't really know until closer to the time

Wednesday is basically a 'chill in the park' kinda day. Wonder around, bump into people, drink at the numerous bars etc. Fun and relaxed before the whole thing kicks off. Thursday is more lively with a lot of the smaller stages up and running, Shangri la is in full flow etc (Thursday night in Shangri La was the best of the 3 times I went last time actually)

Wednesday and Thursday are great days to really bimble and explore the variety of Glasto. By Friday you'll be enjoying yourself so much that it will be: "Bugger, I suppose we'd better interrupt our fun and watch a bit of music."

For a start check out the amazing variety of excellent food available from all over the world. Challenge yourself to try to eat something from every continent.

My favourite part of Wednesday is doing a survey of all the food stalls and planning my food for the weekend. Too many stalls...not enough days :)

The main Bars will be open on the Wednesday but not all of them { as crews come from all over the UK } and the actual bar list is not sent out until close to the event.
Even if they are open its likely that some may close early { a decision is made on the night depending how busy the bar is }

Wednesday - chill, get orientated, explore the site, walk around with a big grin on your face, have a few beers.

Thursday - used to be similar to Wednesday, but now it's more like a full-on festival day. There are plenty of acts, parties, and happenings around site. In fact it's easy to overdo it on the Thursday and peak too soon!

Then things really intensify on the Friday when everything will be on full throttle.

Tuesday start for us campervaners. This is a chance to get to know the neighbours and bring on the atmosphere gently. Stand on the Hill of death at dusk and take in the views and people watch. Wednesday am breakfast to the sight of the campers quietly queuing with their trolleys and barrows fully laden. Last time it was in the rain and I felt sorry for those trudging in all day. I tend to visit stone circle greenfields etc on Wednesday, cider bus and croissant neuf bandstand etc Thursday. And get a feel for changes from last time together with checking out the food stalls en route.

Make sure your doing one of the Efestival meets to get into the mood or sit around by cider bus or brothers stall. I must of done as I have a photo showing my drewstrat Efestival badge, although I couldn't remember much of what went on! Good sign
