Chic was always basically Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards, sadly Bernard is no longer with us. They had other regular vocalists and players including a young Luther Vandros who sang the male parts on many of the early hits. The numbers of records that they shifted in those years is staggering. Le Freak sold 5 million copies.

All of this is great, but from about 39 minutes, the version of Let's Dance is awesome. You can feel/hear that all the band are having a great time.

I'm so excited about this.

Everybody...Aaaaahhhhhhhhhh......FREAKOUT!

Went to this club in Camden last Friday for this 80's cheese night, they played a few 80's cheese tracks and the usual shit club tracks that you hear in most clubs, then they played Get Lucky. The whole place went nuts and the atmosphere was amazing and I had a huge grin on my face. Nile is the man!

come on people, this thread was languishing on the 3rd page of threads

political arguments and pictures of food ahead of it ;-)

i have a lot of love in my heart for the arctics, gutted to be missing them, they will be aces

portishead are a band ive loved since they 1st hit the scene, they will be mean, moody and brilliant

but seriously, those of us that choose to frequent the jazzworld (west holts my arse) will be having the biggest P.A.R.T.Y in the vale on friday

it looks like disco will be the sound of the summer. all the good vibes coming from the daft punk album has put nile rodgers and disco firmly back on the map and rightly so.

i think we'll need a bigger dance floor!

    • Never too early to start discussing next year’s headliners right?   I’m not attending this year so thought I’d get the ball rolling as I saw Weezer have a new album out in August I’d expect them to do this or Slam Dunk next year. I mean they’re probably too big for this however I think they’re niche enough that they would maybe do it, it just depends on if the fee is a bit out of range for trees.    It’ll be the 20th anniversary next year so I’d expect some throwbacks and hopefully some big headliners/acts. James has already said he’s made a mad booking that you wouldn’t guess & I think he mentioned that he’s spent something like 80% of this years budget of next years top line already on last weeks 2 promoters 1 pod (Don’t quote me on that).    I reckon they’ll try for and get at least two (not all) of the following - Enter Shikari, AFI, Weezer, Sex Pistols Feat Frank Carter, Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls
    • for some reason last night watched series one of Prey on Netflix.   if Legends was written by Timmy Mallet (see above) then Prey seems to have been made by Mr Blobby.   why are all these British crime dramas so sh*t?
    • It'll be all over various Seatfillers based upon previous years at Sandringham
    • The Jayhawks 2026 UK Tour    Sept 15 – Brighton – Corn Exchange  Sept 16 – London – Electric Ballroom Sept 17 – Manchester – Academy 2 Sept 18 – Glasgow – The Garage    For you ‘americana’ lovers. They have a great song book.
    • Weezer just announced a new album & US tour so could add them to the headliner pool. Imagine they’ll do this or trees
