Bestival is a major festival, Snoop is a good headliner, elton john isnt up and coming but he is classed as a musical legend! Stevie wonder isn't exactly up and coming he headlined the same day last year, and there are tons more acts to be announced up until Bestival, So stop complaining and and go to bliss fields, Dave the hedgehog is clearly a ball sack and is chocking on some random guys cock for a 5er

Ha when did this turn into a top trumps of festivals, I go to Bestival for more than the bands, it's a pleasant festival so far the line up is pretty sweet and there is still lots more to look forward to, Snoop dogg headlining isn't really the same as Eminem headlining T in the park as it doesn't really make me think its going to be fulls of "lads." And congratulations Dave.

Wasn't difficult.

Great thing (one of the great things) about my fiancee is she knows whenever I'm taking the piss. Unfortunetly online it doesn't always seem to translate very well, or register with people who don't know me. It's my own naivete in thinking that people would understand that about 99% of what I say is a joke, or pointless, without me telling them.

Truth is (1% serious now) - and this is the key - Bestival isn't a shit festival. This isn't even a shit line-up. It's just 'not for me' this year because I'm getting married. I probably wasn't even going to go anyway. But even with The Jesus and Mary Chain there, or Swans (who I'm seeing at Mouth to Mouth anyway) or The Black Angels... why anybody would need it spelling out to them that there was never going to be a conflict with my personal life, and to respond to it with such vitriol, baffles the fuck out of me.

Personally I'd rather have all the other excellent stuff going on at Bestival (The Grand Palace Of Entertainment for example) than big megabucks headliners who for the most part are shite anyway.

    • Orbital opening the Other stage is a bold choice!
    • Great start for them
    • Thanks so much - that's very helpful. Someone else mentioned getting a train from Loughborough to East Midlands Parkway, and then a festival shuttle from there to the site. I think they were then going to come back on the Skylink Derby to Loughborough - I assume this is because the trains don't run as late as the Skylink, otherwise they would just come back the same way they came?! Is the transport hub a long way from the main stage? Just wondering what time I would need to leave Linkin Park to be sure of getting a shuttle. As I say, I am sure it will all be clear on the day, even after a few beers! Just hope the rain stays away...
    • I really don't think they would put Olivia Rodrigo on Occident stage. If it was her, they would put her in earlier Mordor slot and move Big Thief or Little Simz to Occident.   Fontaines DC are more probable, but don't really match the hype. However, again, if the hype was real, the artist would end up in Mordor.   That being said, I would love to see Fontaines DC tonight.
    • After all the good advice on here I had a nice visit to the site earlier in the week.    Walked down from Pilton village to Hitchen Hill and down the footpath to the Wood by Woodies.    Really strange seeing the site empty of 100,000 people. There is far more hedges and woodland on the site than you remember when the festival is on. Can see the stone circle and some structures still up on site. And looks like Worthy View has some camping going on there during the summer too.   Lots was fenced off with electric fencing to help wth the cattle grazing. Is really amazing how they set up the site as its hard enough accessing the area by car and foot nevermind all the kit needed to set the festival up. As others said you can't walk the whole site but nice to see the site again after a few years away   Pilton is also a lovely village with a nice village hall shop and post office attached, and got to speak to some locals who told me a few tales of past festivals down the years. One house for sale there would be lovely to live in - if only I had £2 million going spare
