Ranking albums and declaring it as "fact" is mad ness. Especially if you've got HTTT second. Sort yourselves out.

Anyway, if Thom emailed me tomorrow and asked me what they should play, I'd send him this. Reasonable spread of crowd pleasers/radiohead fan pleasers, I think.

The National Anthem is so so good live!

as for Radiohead albums in order, mine would be:

OK Computer

In Rainbows

The Bends

Kid A

Hail To The Thief

The King Of Limbs

Amnesiac

Pablo Honey

i love Kid A, but for the life of me i just don't see in it what everybody else seems to. not one of their albums i could have on repeat, anyway. a hard listen. and even though Hail To The Thief seems low down on my list, i absolutely love that album. i know the band have said they aren't too fond of it now, but i think it's amazing. i'd possibly even put it above Kid A

I think Kid A is brilliant but it does have a couple of turds on it I must admit. As ever, the songs are so much better live than on the record I think.

I remember the first time I saw how to disappear completely live and when jonny greenwood comes in with the first WEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW bit thinking that things just dont get better than this

hearing the Kid A tracks live (Everything In It's Right Place, The National Anthem, Idioteque, Morning Bell) definitely made me appreciate that album a lot more. Idioteque, especially, is an absolute tour de force live

i haven't had the pleasure of hearing any King Of Limbs songs live yet, but everybody i know who has seen them has said that they are a lot better live than on record so i'm sure my admiration for that album would go up tenfold after seeing them live

Am I the only person that really likes Pablo Honey, then? Went to a club in Reading over Christmas ("Fools Gold" @The After Dark - the best club in the world and this is not arguable!!) and when "Anyone Can Play Guitar" came on I was about as happy as I ever get. Blooming marvellous, that is.

Lets be honest every album (with the possible exception of Pablo Honey) is absolutely fantastic, and I bet every album is a favourite of quite a few people. For me it's

In Rainbows

Ok Computer

Kid A

Amnesiac

King of Limbs

The Bends

Hail To The Thief

Pablo Honey

But I love all of them, and really don't care that much what they play anyway. That Radiohead change around their setlist so much is why people get so up in arms about it, but you should do the opposite. Just sit back and enjoy the show because they're never going to play what you want, they'll play what they want and the chances are it'll be pretty damn good. They know what they're doing, I'd be happy with any setlist they're realistically going to throw my way

I might be wrong, but I'd think a lot of the people whose favourite is In Rainbows quite possibly got into the band due that album coming out? Could be wrong. It's not terrible, but I'd say I prefer 4 of their other albums to it.

It's miles better than KoL though.

    • thanks XXialac! i guess for us the most important aspect will be a festival that starts very late in the day, specially in these southern countries were it can be really hot! The combination of visiting a new city, having good lunches and enjoying a festival is a absolute must for us. Also, we like headliners but the undercard is just as important; truly enjoyed Men I trust, NewDad, Big Thief this year so from that angle it is not really a big thing if a festival is somewhat smaller.    Apparently my bad, i had 5 in my system but 0.5 (10%) increase is still huge. I am not sure how teenagers can afford these prices............
    • That second part was how I felt about Rock IM Park this year trying first. I found that when it gets to like the 3rd act on the main stage down, you've gotta make a choice to miss anything leading up might not enjoy and it's sometimes while closer for not a great view as everyone in turn has to make the call too. Being short doesn't help as I'd just be able be further bacm but still see.
    • I wasn’t slagging Scooter off, they are undeniably silly. As I said, they are the definition of a meme booking for Download. People requested them for years because it was silly.
    • Wolf Alice - Newcastle on Blue Light Tickets
    • Having done all three, Porto is lovely, very chilled but nowhere near as exciting as Barcelona (nor as many options). Bilbao BBK has charm but again not a patch on Barcelona really.   ps and the beer was 5.50, not 5, last year 😉
