Loved it. Wasn't sure how well they would go down and was torn with going to Portishead but fuck me i'm glad i went to see them. One of the best sets of the weekend, new and old songs all sounded awesome. Who gives a shit if they opened with a new one, it sounded fucking ace.

I've just watched bits from iplayer.. they come across much, much better on TV.. I was somewhere in the middle and the sound didn't quite reach us well and they didn't show much on the big screens, so didn't really feel like we were there, which is not really their fault. I can see from the footage, it would have been great to be closer to the front, which I regret not making the effort now.. Admittedly we left just before the encore started, the gap was THAT long, we thought they had finished, a large number of the crowd walked away with us, unfortunately.

So for next time, they need to show more footage on the big screens, turn it up and have far fewer gaps.

Seeing as I already love 'Do I Wanna Know?' I thought it was a great opener at Glasto, bearing in mind a lot of the crowd probably wouldn't know it yet so getting it out of the way early on so the rest of the set is strong was a good idea. I managed to get pre-sale tickets this morning...so chuffed! Got standing tickets for Glasgow and seated for Sheffield. Both in the same weekend so that's gona be interesting :D

Loved the monkeys!! Alex's banter was good and I think his accent is pretty darn sexy! LA suits them........and if Joshua homme is you mate that's a huge thumbs up in my book! Got standing tickets for London.......can't wait!

got tickets for Earls Court. I probably wouldn't have bothered were it not for my little bro, who was really keen to go. I've seen them more times than I can count over the last 7/8 years, but their new material always excites, and they change up the set lists enough to keep me coming back for more, so I know I'll be excited come September

far from my favourite venue though

Looked better than usual but still a bit dull and stop/start for me from watching the BBC's footage...so yeah watching on TV I can't really judge but its done nothing to make me think I missed out by choosing Chic.

Also should maybe give up playing Fake Tales with that strange accent on Alex , "You're not from New York City, you're from Rotherham" ;)

    • Tbf that happened to me in 2022 so not a one off. 40 euros to drive down 3 streets. I'd have done a runner but the reason for getting the taxi in the first place is cos I couldn't walk no more.
    • I was fully prepared (waterproof jacket, extra pair of socks, foldable umbrella), but after four hours in the rain (from Geese through Oklou to Florence Road), it was just too much. Already at the hotel, let's hope tomorrow's better.
    • It’s rare that I watch question time, but I almost felt sorry for Kenyon, he seemed like a guy just brought off the street which effectively is what he was, made worse by the fact Burnham and the Tory guy were very strong debaters. I think Burnham was very aware not to go too hard on Kenyon and risk him getting sympathy, in fact he pretty much ignored him.
    • Shambles. Transport and comms garbage. Been looking forward to this since last June and have never been to a more disorganised festival in 30+ years.  Why we were told the whole festival was cancelled for the night if they had put back shows for a few hours?  Pissed off to say the very least and put a huge downer on the rest of the weekend.
    • Rotten communication. Actually god awful. Posting sporadically on IG, closing Mordor only to reopen and cause some serious carnage. Left the festival as it got too much for my 16year old daughter. She was devastated about Alex G and Mac…but TV girl could have saved it. Took us until 1220 and already home to find out they might/are playing. Pish.    and on another note, this festival has lost its bastard soul. Gone are the wee tents with local sellers selling vinyl, t shirts etc, now you can buy a 50 f**king eur official T-shirt. The ar*e is truely out of this event now. I went to Porto for the first time last year and it was fab. I love Barcelona and the line up is always stacked, but this festival is a corporate loss take. Hopefully a better day tomorrow.
