Well its probably a good point about Nick trying to sell his own shows, although you'd have thought that wouldn't delay it this much. I guess Bestival may just be holiday it back to give a little spice to their next announcement.

I still think The Strokes stand a chance, although they supposedly didn't have any dates booked as of Feb. Could have gotten the call up if Arcade Fire pulled out?

The Strokes would be a good curve ball, Nick Cave would be Nick Cave, amazing! & Vampire Weekend would put on a fun set, plus it would be nice to see them step up...

I'd be happy with either of those 3. Knowing RDB though it'll be an act that nobody has even mentioned yet.

...or Daft Punk :ninja:

I've just realised Cher has an album due for release late 2013/early 2014, how awesome would she be as a Bestival headliner next year, get it sorted RDB!! :P

In all seriousness though, I'm starting to think something must have fallen through? We were told mid April for the next announcement...

Nah, that's actually pretty believable.

I'm thinking a similar thing may have happened at Benicassim and possibly a few other European festivals in between. (Pukkelpop where The XX look a little weak & Rock En Seine who still have a headliner to announce)

I think that's what happened too.

It would have been a good choice, their new album was planned to be out about then and then they would have done a few UK festivals next year.

Just wish they would announce the 3rd headliner, but I get the feeling it will be early May now.

Sounds like someone did pull out then as he has mentioned all 3 were booked already.

Florence might not have been announced till May last year but she was booked well before then as it was pretty common knowledge it was her.

Hopefully wont be too long to wait.

Perhaps they realised how bitchy they sounded & took the conversation down. RDB is a radio 1 dj after all, we all know they aren't allowed negative opinions on anything.

I suppose that could mean that the slot is still open, or it could be taken to mean that the Friday headliner just hasn't been announced yet. Either way I wish they'd hurry up & get on with it, I'm impatient now. :P
