Hosts files. In my very limited knowledge adding the IP address and website to the file means that it can resolve the IP locally rather than having to use your ISP's domain name server to do it. Basically, it'll cut a step our of the process of connecting to a website (or I could be spectacularly wrong)

Hey guys, I managed to buy the ticket. I use my friend in the UK as the primary buyer, but I use a US debit card to pay (because if I use myself as the primary buyer, for outside UK you have to use credit card). And the transaction went through, saying the booking is complete, and I even get an order reference. Am I definitely getting a ticket or will there be any possible trouble with this?

host file trick worked fine for me, got email already.

Ok, it may resolve to a virgin media IP, but whats to say seetickets dont have their servers connected via the virgin network? and anyway why would the scammers know both registration numbers, and all my address details? :-p

ok finally got booking page up on firefox it was iphone previously which even when refreshing took me back to holdig page eventually

do i refresh this when it fails or click go back and proceed which is best PLEASE?

I added that line to my hosts file and got straight through and booked 8 tickets :)

Your hosts file forces a domain name to resolve to a particular IP address, this cuts out the overhead of doing a DNS lookup and also means your targeting a particular server rather than a pool of servers. I realise this explaination probably still sounds like techno mumbo jumbo.
