lharris92
I think that the news was the cancellation of Sonisphere.
JFKvsNixon
read Neil's reply on the last page and the quoted reply from another topic. only time will tell.
eFestivals
It was me who quoted Neil from the 2012 thread on this one, but as I posted beneath the quote, another way to read the post would be that it was a way of both announcing Sonisphere's cancellation and increasing traffic to efestivals' website. I'm leaning towards this point of view now. Feel free to think what you want. I stand by my words, cos only I know what I meant. And what I meant wasn't necessarily for today, tomorrow, or even necessarily any time soon. Just as with the Soni cancellation news, I know what I know, but it's not my place to say. jump
I reckon it's Foo Fighters playing Nevermind with guest vocals from Courtney Love at Reading.

Andre91
I think the big news is that a time machine has been invented to take everyone back to R&L 2010
Vieuphoria
Why 2010? If we has a time machine wouldn't it better to revisit bands we'd not see in this day and age... '95 maybe, '92? 2010 just seems pointless.

rivalschools.price
Just basically offering reasons as to why soni failed after winning best line up at the festival awards last year. Most came to the conclusion it was a bad line up that no one wanted to see.
rivalschools.price
sorry,i meant freddie mercury vocals not freddie mercury songs.
RichieParf
surprising that Kiss didnt help sell many tickets and the faith no more day looked pretty good' didnt realise til yesterday that Queen were due to perform with an X-factor winner singing versions of freddie mercury songs!!! who on earth thought that would be work as a headline act at a rock festival???(sorry for my x-factor ignorance but i stop watching when the crap delusional one's are out)
rivalschools.price
Its interesting. If we were talking about a guitarist or a drummer or any other instrument, however fundamental to the music, the sense of rejection wouldn't be anywhere near this level. The only comparisson is Guns N Roses and its fair to say that those defending them probably outweigh those who would defend any post-Mercury Queen projects. Its all in the singer, clearly. JT436
So is the big news Vans Warped Tour in the UK? On the website it mentions signing up for the "kililive.com newsletter", so it sounds like it's related to the Soni cancellation...
JBarbour
So it seems there is still quite a lot of bitterness between Stuart Galbraith and Live Nation. Haha Can't see the big news being that Vans tour, its certainly not bigger news than soni. Is kili going bankrupt?

JBarbour
He more than just worked with them on Download. under him LN market share in the uk grew massively. He helped instrument a lot of LN fests that are still going today. Edited March 30, 2012 by craigb
jump
http://www.musicfest...lled-this-year/ FR have cancelled a fest, Orlando Calling. It's a shame it's not even in the UK so it can't be blamed on the Olympics. *edit* Did Strickly ever say what the "big news" was? Didn't they say they would let it out yesterday or something?
