It's going to be hard going to a festival where they actually don't play this summer.

It's already been hard to miss them but even harder next year. It's already too much, I'd rather a random set like Pearl Jam, QOTSA and Blur. Bit different at least

I'm pretty certain Zane was away for one, if not two of the announcements of this year's (2013) fests.

I'm sure the main announcement was announced on zanes show by someone else who said we will get it over with quickly and announced it at about 7:10

Yeah that's quite common, if he's away they usually just let Annie Mac (or whoever else is standing in) do the announcement. I think we all remember her 'emo' comment about The Cure when she did the 2012 announcement.

Which makes it odd that even if he was away why they moved it to a completely different show rather than just letting the stand in announce it like every other time.

She also said they had reformed or am I thinking of someone else?

DAFT PUNK HEADLINE R&L 2014- SUBBED BY THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS

(wakes up from the dream realising that this could only ever happen at Creamfields or Glasto)

Reading & Leeds- where are your cojones?

Reckon we're in for the safe Arctic Monkeys announcement tonight, with YM@6 and Foals.

Personally with all the Arctic monkeys shows this year I would put it up as the most uninspiring line up to this point if it is them to be announced tonight.

I know the general public will love it. I still think r&l would be missing an open goal opportunity by not holding off til 2015 for them and getting an exclusive which would put them well on their way to selling it out.

With already 180,000 possibilities of seeing them next year, and 100,000 already sold they then have to almost double that number as the main draw for r&l.

That would certainly fit in with a loose generalisation of how they've operated in the past, although no doubt if that did happen this time next year everyone would complain because "everyone who has wanted to see them over the last two years has already had the chance".

Exactly this. So true.

Maybe so but it would be better than seeing Arctic Monkeys name on the top of every festival in the same year.

Yeah, that is what IOW blamed their tix troubles on this year as all their headliners were doing big shows. Personally I blame Bon Jovi full stop.

    • Very different in terms of time of game,  yet remember how excited I was before the first game in Euro 2016 having grown up not sure I would ever see wales in an international tournament. That day scraped a win against Slovakia and was just happy to see wales score and win at a tournament, little did I know we would finish in the top 4. Hope Scottish fans get the same experience.
