Just seen the Clashfinder and it looks about right, but I think Arctic Monkeys will get two hours. Also think the sub on the QOTSA/Paramore day will get the usual amount of time for a sub and then 90 minutes when they're headlining, like The Strokes and Pulp the other year.

Pulp just got a longer set at both sites.

Ah yes, and The Strokes got 1 hour 15 at both sites? Think the same will be the case with QOTSA and Paramore, QOTSA probably getting the longer set.

That's unlikely. Queens don't really do long sets so I don't think they'd get allowance for a longer one. I think they already confirmed they'd get the same time allotted too but I might be wrong about that.

Unlikely? I'm sure both of them will get 1.5 hour sets.

Arctic Monkeys won't get two hours and even if they do they'll still play for an hour and a half

I'm happy RnL don't bother with all the peace and love bollocks like other festivals do; it was so tacky when IoW had a firework display and started blaring All You Need is Love over the PA once Kings of Leon came off.

If all you need is love why do they charge £10 for a programme?

Money is love, did you not know?

EDIT: Works best in Amsterdam

Didn't Arctic Monkeys play two hours at Finsbury Park? They can certainly fill the longer slot headliner role I think, they're that size of band now.

I do think QOTSA will get 90 minutes at Reading and an hour or so at Leeds, and vice versa for Paramore. I recall people thinking Pulp and The Strokes would both equally get 90 minutes in 2011 but it didn't happen.

Nope, they played for 90 minutes. If they don't do it at their own shows (or Glastonbury) I doubt they'll do it at Reading and Leeds

Also, I'm pretty sure MB said both QOTSA/Paramore would have the same set length when he was rambling on about this being the first 'true co-headline' the festival has ever had

Oh really? Maybe there won't be a long set this year then, but bands on the QOTSA/Paramore day will play earlier than their slots usually do. I still think Arctic Monkeys are more than capable of it. Plenty of material and surely on a similar level to Green Day, Foo Fighters, Muse, Radiohead, Metallica, RHCP, et al.

I don't get it.

So how about the Sunday being the heavy day?

There seems to be two this year, usually it's the Friday at Reading but both are. Plus Vampire Weekend and Macklemore.

Just like how there is usually at least one headliner who plays a longer set than the usual 90 minutes.

They're fully capable of it, it's a little embarrassing that even now they still only play for 90 minutes.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
