2013 Lineup

to me it just seems a bit of a head scratcher that all the bands touring that they have not booked any to make it more solid.

bands like xx, hurts, bloc party, joy formidables, modest mouse, dizzee rascal for example.

Now if there idea is to totally aim at the teenage market thats all very well, very short sighted though. You would imagine that its the workers and not the students who have the disposable income to actully buy the tickets.

Just my opinion though.

I agree that there are a lot of obvious bands that have been missed out. Dizzee would have been so much better than Chase and Status. I think Bloc party were a very obvious one for this year but as people have said, maybe they were offered 3rd and didn't want to play that low

I really thought Hurts would be there but i don't see how they could fit in now

It's remarkably un-indie so far. Surely that will change with more bands announced I think Joy Formidable can still fit into that lineup. As can Miles Kane, Everything Everything and Django Django

Foals are easily big enough to play third based on previous bands, and Editors are bizarrely popualr in Belgium. look at their slots at other UK festivals, it'll be the same as at R&L.

As for no wiki picture...

it's actually frightening how weak the line up is this year. i mean, chase and status sub headlining? the past few years have seen the black keys, the strokes, bloc party, the libertines and qotsa sub headline. but chase and status!? they don't even have a picture on wikipedia... skrillex headlining the nme is just a big joke... foals aren't big enough to be 3rd on main... Editors headlined rock werchter last year and yet they are 5th from the top on the main... the list of oddities goes on. the only acts saving the festival are green day and eminem.

Don't know if its been mentioned but do you think the weak NME line up is because of the cost of the acts on the new stages? So instead of taking it out of the budget for main or increasing ticket prices much more, they just booked cheaper acts for the NME stage.
