Main: Eminem

Sub: The Prodigy

Third: Dizzie Rascal

Fourth: Frank Turner

NME: Bullet for my Valentine

Main: Biffy

Sub: Mumford & Sons

Third: The XX

Fourth: Editors

NME: Foals

Main: SOAD

Sub: Soundgarden

Third: Weezer

Fourth: Deftones

NME: Alt-j

Although far too strong, so probably need all the second placed bands to disappear and all thirds move up one.

Wish people would stop asking for Prodigy. Watched them in 09, and at Download twice, and I really don't get what the fuss is about. Just a couple of twats shouting "My *insert festival name* warriors" over pre-recorded music... How does that get such a following?! It beggars belief!

Bring Me the Horizon are energetic, doesn't make them good!

Honestly though, I only watched the whole set once, (at Download times there were better options) and really don't get it. Each to their own and all that, but there really were no redeeming features to the '09 Reading set in my book. It's not that I hate them altogether, I own a couple of albums, but I just expect more from live acts than a couple of dickheads shouting over a recording of them singing!

I've had some info that they're headlining, that I'm strongly inclined to believe.

However, I've not been able to check it out by other means as yet, so I'm hedging my bets slightly by not marking them as a 'tbc' just yet.

But having said that, I'd be quite happy to put a bet on that Biffy will headline - so I am pretty confident that it's right.

Did Neil ever say any more on Mumfords removal from V rumours and addition to R+L?

I know even mentioning the word goes against everything I stand for but I've started to think them and Biffy could...

    • My wife works for a music company, they have an allocation already.  They run a ballot for it early next year.
    • This is my guess too.    2028 festival breaks the £400 barrier.
    • Yeah I did spot that AXS had more available for the O2 shows Muse are doing, though I think that comes with the territory of AXS now being the venue's primary ticket selling platform.    My instinct remains they'll probably still play to a big crowd on the night - sales were similarly slow in 2023 but videos of those gigs showed the venue looking pretty much full. Equally it probably would be sold out if the pricing was even just slightly less ridiculous. Shave up to £50 off some of these categories and I think that would've got people to go with it.
    • Some are definitely already there with that and with another round of inflation looking like it's on the way, it certainly locks that in. And I say that as someone who also isn't willing to break the £100 marker.
