Yeah that's a pretty solid argument; I don't think it's the most likely but you've convinced me a fair bit.

On the flipside though you could argue that as they've got heavy headliners their NME headliners will be more indie, so the "heavy" headliner won't be too heavy, a la Placebo/Manics/My Bloody Valentine.

Foals as the "heavy" headliner? Inhaler is the only song I'd class by them as heavy, and that's sort of a long stretch.

Another point, how come people are thinking SOAD are likely to sub Sabbath now? If it's to do with Thrash Hits, they were pretty clear they heard Biffy and SOAD were both headliners.

They played another song off the new album on Jools Holland and it was more standard Foals fare so I'm not too sure if that's gonna be the case.

Don't really see any substance to SOAD subbing, headlining yes but I doubt they'd bother getting everything together unless it was to headline.

Correct. All I'm saying is that at a festival who have passed off Manics, Ash, Raconteurs and Kasabian as the heaviest NME headliners, I think it's possible. They're not gonna shoehorn Placebo or Soundgarden in because of the outrage coming from no heavy NME headliners.

So even if Foals are the heavy headliner, how many indie acts of that size will be touring next year? The 3rd is more likely to be an electro headliner in the same vein as Justice this year I think. Chase and Status? The only problem with that though is all the new dance stages and stuff. I can't think of any act other than Chase and Status around the right size to do it

I was thinking that it may be a better idea for R&L to have System headline and have The Prodigy sub over getting Sabbath/SOAD as I reckon the majority of people interested in that already have their Download tickets bought up.

Eminem/Biffy would need either a jaw dropping third headliner (Rolling Stones or The Who) or the greatest undercard ever to get my ticket money this year, which is a shame as there would of been 5 in a row for me.

No interest in Eminem at all and have seen Biffy 3 times now and each time have found them to be so dull, i've never managed to stay for a whole set and the prospet of a longer one is just depressing. If SOD play will get a day ticket but thats it.
