i think the only reason there is demand for Daft Punk is because they hardly tour.

They are not as big as people think they are, if they did headline, which they won't, i don't think it would be that well received.

Well last time Daft Punk played in the UK I believe they headlined the second stage at Rockness '07, whilst the Chem Brothers headlined the fest.

The Prodigy and Pendulum are both bigger here than Daft Punk. They aren't a headline act imo. Like someone else said, there's only a demand for them because they barely tour at all. I don't think they'd get a big crowd if they headlined Reading really. How many people would be dying to see a DJ set...

The amount that DP would cost they would have to be a headliner. Fests will be clamouring over them when they do actually play. I can't see any fest actually getting them though, other than Coachella. I don't think R&L could afford them, Glasto couldn't, V wouldn't. People would come from all over the world for it.

logic was actually quite simple, Daft Punk aren't a headline act, if they played, they'd sub. Libertines would probably headline if they played again and since Doherty has been talking up Libertines playing together again (well according to NME anyway!) I thought there was a decent chance they might play, don't think it would be too different to when Prodigy subbed Arctic Monkeys in '09..
