nah. They've got the same problem (and perhaps worse) as last year - a problem scoring goals.

They've had a lot of luck help their goals go in so far (and which it could be equally be said that luck has gone against Liverpool with getting the ball into the net). I can't see that sort of luck keeping going thru the season.

I love Silva but some of this media talk that he is now the best in the world is silly, just as 2 years ago when they did the same with rooney. What puts messi and Ronaldo apart is long term consistency, Silva isn't at that level, although I can see the media probably has an agenda in promoting "the best league in the world".

Well yes. He is the best in the league though. Possibly the best player in the premier league ever, although he'd have to continue for a few more years to prove that.

And yeah, I don't believe anyone claiming that actually believes it rather than is pushing an agenda.

the shots played pretty decently last night. The goal from Valencia was unstoppable, but the defending for the other two was so atrocious I reckon the defence had been taking lessons off Rio. :P ..... you can't let Owen and Berba stand on the penalty spot unmarked, there's only one thing going to happen. ;)

And I was a bit disappointed with the ref. It seemed to be that he'd decided to let things go to be kind to Aldershot (Utd should have had a penalty in the first half), but I reckon the outcome overall was that Utd got off lightly. While the 'shots players fouls were due to their lower and slower skill levels, so many of Utd's were cynical that the yellows should have been flying around.

But anyway ... on the basis of last night's result, Aldershot are closer to Utd than Utd are to City. There's nothing to be ashamed of from losing.

Let's hope the money gets spent on the club and not used to fatten director's pockets.

Apparently Tevez is going to sue Mancini due to "defamation" but isn't going to appeal about his fine/suspension.

I think he might have solid legal ground for doing that, given that what Mancini said about him isn't provable.

However, I'd be surprised if any judge made a significant financial award in Tevez's favour (if Tevez won). While Tevez might not have committed the 'ultimate' footballing crime, the fact that 5 breaches of contract have been firmly put against him and he's accepted those as accurate (which he will have done if he doesn't appeal them), then a judge is likely to decide that it's something he's largely brought on himself by his own actions.

The great thing about civil law cases is that common sense is a part of any judgement. :)

Tevez is a fucking idiot. Nothing surprises me with that arsehole.

I don't disagree with you, but .....

Mancini has said something about Tevez which is likely to have a significant impact on Tevez's future career. It's just about the worst thing that anyone can say about a professional footballer.

So if the truth of the matter is Tevez's version of what happened, then I can understand why he'd be so pissed off to follow thru with legal action.

    • I don’t think the festival automatically ‘need’ to have a female headliner if you have strong female headliners on the Other Stage (which I reckon will be Rosalia and Phoebe Bridgers), perhaps a female legend (praying for Annie, will take Cher), and a few female/mix gendered subs on the Pyramid (maybe London Grammar, The xx). From what I’ve seen of Sabrina, her team prioritises the pay day and I think she will be doing Wembley over Glasto weekend.   One thing I’ve noticed is a lot of the suggestions would be first time headliners and I can’t work out when the last time was that the festival had three artists top the bill that hadn’t topped it before? It seems to be something they like to do to make sure they have a ‘safe’ headliner that will land well with the masses. Plenty of names in that hat that could step back up next summer and should/could be about: Billie Eilish, Adele, Foo Fighters, The Cure, Radiohead, U2…hell, if Beyoncé is really planning to release a ‘rock n roll’ album to complete her Renaissance trilogy, Glastonbury would be a great place to ‘kick off’ that campaign for her.   And there’s always the Rihanna rumour. Her husband (I think) said this week she’s in the studio.
    • And all (or all but one) of the secret sets repeats though?
