I dont want the welsh players anywhere near this side, I agree with the sfa and faw that it would be the start of a slippery slope to a uk side which is the last thing I want. I also dont want Stuart "passion" Pearce getting his hands on the Welsh players as I suspect he would make them better not worse.

Firstly football shouldnt be in the olympics and secondly there should be no UK team. However if there has to be one, let Beckham have the attention he craves, its not like the uk team would have a chance of winning, so may as well make it an exhibition team.

I think Beckham would be the first name down on paper for the squad. It might be a sentimental vote rather than tactical but he can still do a decent job.Wouldn't be a starter though.

I'm of the view that he played a part in London getting the games,is incredibly patriotic and will actually mean something to him rather than taking it for granted like alot of international players and would be a fitting way for him to bow out professionally.

So City are going to do Tevez for failing to warm up when instructed, and not for refusing to come on.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15400572.stm

I'm guessing that that's the safe legal route cos Tevez has admitted that he refused to warm up, while it sounds like the refusal to play thing comes down to evidence only of Tevez's word against Mancini's (which if that's the case, City would lose).

So, it's only a few days until the big match....

No, I don't mean Utd/City, I'm on about Tuesday's game when Utd visit Aldershot. :D

It's a right bummer that it's only two after Utd/City, cos it just about guarantees a junior Utd team.

I suppose the upside is that the chances of Aldershot winning might have increased from 0.1% to 0.2%.

A fucking idiot. Hes going to appeal too. 250k a week and he won't warm up. w*nker.

when put against the wages like that it defo makes him look a c**t, but when looked at in isolation I sort-of have some sympathy for his refusal*.

(*refusal to warm up I'm meaning).

He'd already warmed up twice, and was being asked to warm up for a third time, when he felt he was warmed up enough to go on without a warm-up.

Sometimes I wonder why players don't just tell managers to stop taking the piss.

I think it'll be a 2nd team anyway but you're still looking at a starting 11 with Berbatov, Owen and a couple of other players who need game time.

You going Neil?

nah .... I didn't try for tickets, tho I'd have probably needed to queue up at the ground for three days anyhow. I did consider asking my 75 year old mum to do that for me, but that might have been pushing it.

Earlier today I nearly booked a meeting for Tuesday night, so I might have missed it on tv too. Luckily I realised in time.

Bloody hell. Wish I'd watched the Manchester derby rather than just having the scores flash at me now. Utterly destroyed.

How much was Evans to blame? Sounded like a straight red, and apparently at fault for earlier goals as well? I'll watch the highlights, but is he just continuing to endlessly prove his critics (who I'm among) right?

Good win for Arsenal. Van Persie may have been the key factor, but being able to leave him on the bench for 60ish minutes must be a good thing. Be interesting how they do at Chelski next week. I suspect that'll be a much better game that it would have 3-4 weeks ago.

Table's starting to look a bit like how you'd expect it to now. Blackburn, Bolton, Wigan, in a relegation fight. Promoted teams with a few more points to be in mid-table but based on the last few seasons they usually start well, then drop off as squad size and feel-good factor starts to make an impact. We're still invading the top 6, but with Stoke, both Manchester teams and Chelsea in the next 5 games, I'd expect us to fall to at least 7th by mid-December. Our season's more dependent on how quickly we bounce back.

u r blaming the wrong player.

the team sheet said someone was playing beside him, but i only became sure he was on the field in the 79th minute. And then only because he was shit.

    • Currently obsessed with Slayyyter, but not sure either she would be a headliner ? Although in august 2024 Chappel Roan was at the same point : a breakout set at Coachella, a first appearance on a late night talk show in june, an incredible crowd at lollapalooza, numbers going up along the buzz. So who knows ?!
    • Is she any bigger than last time? Still firmly a sub for me. Not sure the interest would be as strong for her headlining.
