Have liverpool been linked with any strikers, was thinking before and nobody obvious comes to mind who is available and would make a huge impact. Agree spurs should hold off liverpool but I just have a funny feeling Arry will pull a really dumb move like ripping his midfield apart and buying lampard and building the team around him.

Liverpool are constantly being linked with strikers and midfielders in the papers - tho of course there might be nothing to any of that. Generally they're younger ones, which fits the Henry plan, but also means they're generally players that are off the radar of someone like me who doesn't take much of an interest in footie outside the UK.

As for 'Arry, yup - he'll be wanting to tinker cos that's what he does (plus he's got big bills from lawyers coming up and so he needs some extra wonga ). Whether Levy will let him loose with the chequebook I don't know, but I reckon it's more likely right now than it's been in recent windows cos his eyes might be starting to glaze over with dreams of glory.

So, no one at LFC does racism awareness training for new signings?

I've no idea, but I'd be surprised if they or any other club does.

Things might perhaps have changed in the last few years, but no more than a few years ago it was standard for all clubs when signing an overseas player to have them sign on the dotted line and then point them at a hotel and leave them to it - they gave no support to them of any kind, they were expected to turn up for training and that's all.

Looks like Liverpool screwed up badly if that's the case... And the other premiereship clubs better start asap!

I would think that the result of the Suarez case will be for clubs to introduce appropriate 'educational training', which can only be a good thing.

I forgot about Levy, my impression is that he is one of the best chief execs in the league, really keeps Arry from doing the stupid things he would naturally do.

hmmmm ... not sure about that. 'Arry's arrival coincided with Spurs starting to post losses instead of profits. I have a feeling that they might have returned to a small profit with their last accounts, but that included them being in the Chumps which of course brought them significant extra income.

Well it actually wasn't Evra. It was Mick Phelan, Gary Neville, Pique and Tevez (who cant speak English, granted). Evra never claimed to have heard anything. All he did was punch the groundsman.

I've just tried googling for it and failed cos it's now so lost behind the Suarez thing, but ralph has posted some of the words of that FA judgement into this thread recently at least twice (and I've failed to find those as well).
