Bourbon Street Bar

I loved it and the Bourbon selection was very good indeed. My only mistake was asking for ice in my Maker's Mark and the young girly put far too much in and ruined an awesome drink.

I love the idea of Bourbon Street but I think the execution is awful. I wish they'd move it out of babylon and make it cool instead of just being a 'pub' style marquee. The music is great, the selection of bourbons is great - Makers Mark and Knob Creek are favourites -(although the barmaid looked at me funny when I asked for it straight up - as if your supposed to drink it watered and sugared into oblivion with pub coke) but that marquee and the location sucks.

I love the Bourbon Street bar..its been one of my favourite places to go over the past couple of years, there's always a great atmosphere there, especially late at night. Have seen some great blues, country rock and rockabilly bands there. The Orbitsuns were great fun as was the Rabbit Foot Spasm Band and Marcus Bonafanti is an excellent blues guitarist.

Was anyone else there on the Thursday, when the band/duo I've forgotten the name were playing? They were before the marvellous Top Shelf Jazz.

A bloke came in who looked like a larger Ed Miliband. Clearly a bit tipsy he danced for the crowd to massive cheers. Was really good fun. :P

    • It would be piss-easy for a bot to manage, though.
    • I've heard that ticket sales for other events that use the same system have included the question 'are you still there?' on each window/browser you have with a place in the queue. If you don't confirm you are, it'll assume you're not and that place will drop.   I've no idea if Glasto/See will adopt this, but it would be challenging to keep on top of with many windows open.
    • People who're struggling are already priced out, so I don't think a bump in price will affect who attends. There'll still be a cross section, leaning young. I also think they'll do a soft breaking of the £400 ceiling, keeping the ticket price just below but having postage take it over. Next year the ticket itself will be over that threshold.

    • Not sure if this has been mentioned but new La Roux album out November - was meant to play in 2020 but hasn't found her way back onto a lineup. If any excuse just to hear this absolute banger on the fields next year!
