I think Kasabian will definitely be playing their next album in a headline slot on the Pyramid. Whether thats next year or the year after, I think it'll happen. They deserve it and they'll no doubt put on one of the best shows of the weekend.

No need to worry, much like Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhall, they're never ever ever getting back together, and I'll go the full Justiceforcedave and bet a bollock quiche on that.

Putting aside my hatred for the individuals that make up Kasabian, I see them as more of a sub band than a headliner. In size they're a headliner, but in ability, they've been summed up perfectly a couple of posts back as "meat and two veg". Indie rock tunes with singalong choruses, they're able to play their songs live perfectly adequately and have a frontman with that fucking asshole persona that passes for charisma in the society we live in, but is anything about their show anything other than just fine? Take Oasis or Arctics, remove what makes those bands stand out and you have Kasabian.

pretty much agree with everything you said there. to me Kasabian will always be that band who were born to sub Oasis, and that's it. i'm sure they'll make headliner in a couple of years, but christ will it be uninspiring

I'd go with that. 1 day at Pyramid, 1 day at Other and 1 day elsewhere for me, and a good amount I actually want to see on the pyramid. Be very surprised if Plan B subbed though - 2 hip hop subs in one year? Swap Plan B with Chase and Status and add in New Order and looking good

Isn't Plan B guaranteed a pyramid slot this year?

I'm very worried about chase and status, great act... but they are a big act now! they are gonna take up a big slot! Could well be a sub slot knocking a contender out.

Plan B is probably big enough to sub... but i'd like to think that if he is playing it'd be third again. Chase and Status are subbing at Reading/Leeds so i think it's safe to say that if they're playing that's where they'll be at Glastonbury (unless, of course, they're a Other headliner)

    • Another note, if I didn't mention the food in the arena for main stage is right at the back. Bands wise they do very well for but as a festival so far they pros are outweighed quite heavily currently for me.
