Hope Arctic Monkeys do have a headline slot, seen them a couple of times and always enjoyed it. Not fussed if Rolling Stones do or don't play, would prob go and watch them if they do though. With Beyonce playing in 2011 would they put somebody like Adele or Rihanna as a headliner? Not my thing but just trying to think who has been popular recently.

A Beatle and the Stones at the same festival? I can see why people might think they're similiar (as they're from the same era) but that would be beyond a coup. Add arctics, mumfords, dizzee, chase and status etc (for anyone younger whose not impressed by those two) and that's still a balanced line-up. Alternatively Macca would be one of the few artists who could replace the stones without it seeming like a step down in size.

Adele recently cured her stage fright after attending countless and countless therapy.

She had this therapy because she nearly pulled out of the oscars.

I wonder if they re asked her? then again I don't think it will be her.

it would also seem like a lurid little heritage circle jerk. someone `a bit fresher please (i say this with absolutely nothing against either mccartney or the stones, it's just boring seeing the same old men topping festivals 40 years after their prime)

Saw Kasabian on Wednesday at there Teenage Caner Trust warm-up gig in Plymouth,

I'm sorry, and this may not be a popular opinion, but Mr Eavis is mental if he's not asking them about headlining 2014. They are just phenominal live.... probably one of the best live bands in Britain. The only band I've seen in the last year or so who could compare are Blur. (and trust me, I've seen a lot of bands).

Whilst I don't disagree that they are top live act (seen them twice), and they probably do deserve to headline at some point, there is the fact that they've headlined more or less every major UK/European festival in recent years, making them quite a predictable and dull booking (something Eavis probably wants to avoid).

Also every year we get rumours of the likes of Bowie, Stones, Fleetwood Mac, Daft Punk, Radiohead, Prince etc, meaning a lot of people would always see them as a bit of a 'mehhh' booking.

    • Three Scottish bands with a bunch of hits behind them, must be more to be added to this lineup as it's over 3 days, targeting the local crowd rather than people travelling methinks.

    • 2 jobs ago, i used to cycle to work - 20 miles every day, rain or shine... i did that for 5 or 6 years.   during that time, all the shows i went to i bought shirts in size M as they fit perfect all was good.   fast forward to now, my bike sits forlorn in the garage... and every single one of those t-shirts serves only as an embarrassing reminder...
