i'm pretty sure they'd definitely be headlining

like Neil said, it'd be absolutely massive. no appeal or recognition for under 30's!? seriously!? i think you'd be hard pressed to find people of all ages who don't know Club Tropicana, Careless Whisper, Last Christmas, Freedom and Wake Me Up (even if they're not entirely sure that they're Wham! songs, which they would soon find out if they were announced as headliners)

Sounds as though Adele is playing Hyde Park. I remember her saying she doesn't "do" festivals anymore, but given the links between the two (or is that broken now that HRC/Wireless have gone to QE Park?) in headliners previously maybe she's back in the running?

Neil, just picking up on 1 of your comments earlier, you said IF the Stones headline there will be a completly different type of act subbing seperate the crowd, isn't the opinion that its Mumfords subbing? Surely the majority who will watch them will stay for The Stones??

Yet Shakira, Jessie J, Black Eyed Peas and Rolf have maintained the festival's cred?

Theres always been a pop side to Glastonbury. It mightnt meet your particular expectation but you can't please 'em all. George Michael plays this summer to 75K+ no question.

For the record I think it's a longshot and most of my posts on the topic have been devil's advocate guff.

Basically what I'm getting at is there something inherently "cheesy" about Glastonbury. Its never professed to be some kind überhip lightningrod. Theres been a broadminded populism to their bookings for years. Particularly on the main stage. I don't particularly like it when they try to change this dynamic quite honestly.

Scoffing at George Michael playing Glastonbury is bizarre. Puts you in the same anachronistic liferaft that that ape Noel Gallagher was in prior to JayZ's appearance.

Let the festival book something different and comment afterwards. None of us know what it could be like. I've stated that Neil Diamond was gawd awful on here many times - yet there were 60K at that show. People loved it. The hordes turned up their collective noses at Robbie Williams but his appearance at Glasters saved his fucking career.

Give the rockism a rest lads.
