Deftones are probably better than any band rumoured for Glasto thus far.
perhaps, but they're not better than hundreds of non-landfill bands that Glastonbury will have.

You can get landfill anywhere. I personally don't understand why anyone would waste their time there watching the same bands they could see in a dozen other places.

This is true Neil to a certain extent. Though i for one have been extremely strapped this year and have set G as the one festival i will go to this year, and nothing before as i am having to save up for it. I would normally go to see some gigs before, thus i will miss Foals and I am kloot on tour too name just two that might perform. The G line up gives me a chance to see some of them. Also others live in far flung places that don't have the amount of venues as a London or other big city and have to travel, thus add expense etc. In an ideal world we would all love to just "pop along" to our local venue and watch our fave band, not always possible.

I assume he meant festivals, rather than venues. Purely due to the depth of the Glastonbury line up, there's hundreds of acts you wouldn't see anywhere else, where as you don't get that at R&L.

The only thing that has really attracted me to Reading since the first time I went is exclusives. If there's an act I'm desperate to see, and know I can't see anywhere else, such as The Cure last year, I'd go.

Sorry if that's the case :) , i wouldn't go to Reading, i don't think it carries the variety of Glastonbury, i doubt you would wander as you do at G and find some gems. Also as said before , when the line up comes out it's great fun to look at some of the artists playing that you had not heard of or wouldn't otherwise and find some gems. I saw The Strange Boys in the Park by finding them on the rumour page, also saw The Villagers there . I love it once it all comes together,i can spend hours online listening and gearing myself up for the festival :)

Reading some glasto facepalm worthy tweets;

"I've heard that they've booked destinies child to headline glastonbury, seeing as beyonce did glastonbury last year"

"I love glastonbury, coldplay play every year".

"Stupid People buying glasto tickets officially, ebay is where it's at"

"Fleetwood mac are 100% headlining, I'm certain about this!".

Stop the world I want to get off...

    • We don't have any choice but I don't need a t-shirt for it! 🙂    On the bright side, it gets it out of the way for a nice 5 year run... notwithstanding wars, new contagious diseases and apocalypse.

    • More O2 December dates gone and still no Paul McCartney shows announced
    • Quick question. Rather enjoyed the Rhubarb Cider from the bars. I know Thatchers did the pump ciders but who made the Rhubarb Cider?
    • Top 5 acts of the weekend for me: 1. The Cure 2. my bloody valentine  3. caroline 4. Father John Misty 5. Big Thief   Biggest disappointments: - Slowdive (the mixing/sound just wasn’t right, and that was about 20 rows from the front of the stage) - The xx (also too quiet and marred by talkers who had no interest in the music)    Positives from an organisational sense: - extra water point at Mordor this year - handing out ponchos before the rain and ear plugs before mbv    However…two of the water points had ran out on Saturday evening, which is completely unacceptable when you stop people from bringing in large bottles of water, and charge €4.50 at the bars for a 330ml can
