Yeah with the 50th anniversary you'd expect that next year will be the Stones' last major tour. Whether they want to tick the Glasto box or not will probably dictate if they play or not. I'm sure they wouldn't be announced until all the stadium dates sold out, anyway.

In a way I'd like them to play for Glasto's sake, but I'd also rather see a newer band who deserve the exposure that goes with a Glasto headline slot take it instead. Arcade Fire simply have to headline 2013.

I'm going for - A classic headliner (maybe Tom Petty? Dylan?) for Friday - Arcade Fire for Saturday and then some bullshit contemporary pop act on Sunday.

The Stones have also played freebie shows before now. I'm not sure how the funding worked for SARSstock and/or Copacabana Beach and I'm sure they didn't come away empty handed, but they're not always (entirely) focussed on the paycheque. Otherwise they wouldn't still play their (admittedly occasional) club shows.

Arcade Fire are defiantly playing!!! if I keep saying it will happen.

They where in talks to sub-headline last time and then all of a sudden they had a couple of grammys and Brit awards in their back pockets and so I reckon ME said scrap that idea and you can headline in 2013 and a deal was done.

A few weeks later at Hyde park I think they said see you in 2 years, so they are deffo playing!!!
