My gut says it won't happen, being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of fame might get all those guys in the same room, it may even get a one off performance but I'm sure they've been offered silly money to reunite before so it would surprise me if all of a sudden they changed their mind.

HOWEVER

  • Duff did play with them when they last came to the UK

  • Could potentially explain why it's taken so long to get them solidly booked when they were one of the first names to be thrown about as a third headliner.

  • I suppose you can never say never when it comes to band reunions.

Either way we probably wouldn't find out until closer to the induction and as I said to start with... my gut says no! ; )

Hart Attack made that poster didn't he?

Although Id say most of it is probably correct and after all this time Soni will have ended up with a decent line up after all. I say decent as in it will sell enough, but it isn't to my tastes as an overall line up. There's some acts I'd watch mind.

I really don't think Korn are gunna be there however, they've announced nothing so far have they? Are they not just doing US this summer? I thought perhaps Reading might have them

I think you made a poster that looks accurate but with a good selection of bands expected to play. I can't believe that Neil would SR all of them without good reason too.

On the Korn thing, if they were total exclusive they wouldn't need to announce any dates of anything else really. I see Skrillex isn't even as a R now. I reckon he may be subbing the dance tent at R&L? Dave Grohl has recently said I fucking love Skrillex.

how is that "pulling tricks"? rammstein would have played download if soni wasnt on the calendar, and vice versa. I wouldnt be gutted if soni survived and DL died, i just prefer donington park as a venue. the walk isnt that big a deal, and the campsite at soni is fucking awful. that hill from the arena is a pisstake.

If they did get back together as the 'classic line up' then they would milk it for all they could and would do a World Tour of their own, they have already announced they are playing many shows in Europe under the current line up, it would be very naive of anyone to think they just going to rock up at Sonisphere with Slash and Duff etc. It may happen in the future but if it did there would be a big build up to it in the same way as The Stone Roses and Black Sabbath announced their respective comeback tours.

If they play Sonisphere then it will be with the same line up that played Reading and Leeds.

    • Brazil's first half was genuinely dreadful all round, not just the midfield, so they're absolutely not bulletproof. Whether Scotland have the quality to take advantage is a different question.   Tbf, that's as much on Morocco looking good, which I did think was a possibility. They could be a bit annoyed with themselves not to have scored more before Vini's goal tbh.
    • Surely nowadays with so much data analytics available on every division in world football and so much awareness that people aren't suckered in on the basis of a decent World Cup game... right?   Although tbf, from what I saw, Australia's game plan worked very well. But that was as much thanks to Turkey blowing varying opportunities given they created enough chances but couldn't finish, a la what happened with Switzerland against Qatar when they really could and should've won by 3/4 goals.
    • I missed Viagra Boys for a good spot for Gorillaz. Was a nice weekend and festival for me. Would definitely come back, if the line up is right. Get back home safe everyone.
    • The Last Temptation - new Heaven 17 documentary film directed by James Strong. Premiered at Sheffield Docfest this weekend.    I really enjoyed it. Affectionate, insightful, and honest. A nice mix of archival and footage, interviews and clips from the last tour. Martyn and Glenn are like an old married couple.   Plus a snippet of news from the Q&A, Martyn is recording new BEF material, and Phil Oakey has collaborated on the one of tracks. The film shows them meeting in Fagans for the first time in over 35 years.
