2012 Lineup

Right if I like bands like Editors, We Are Scientists, Maximo Park, The Killers, Arcade Fire what festival am I meant to go to? I used to think it was R/L but clearly its not. The Vaccines, The Courteeners, The Cribs and The Horrors I like as well as the headliners but other than that I just hate it. Im not just complaining to make a point, I genuinely want to know if a festival exists where you can see a lineup filled with band like that rather than chart music like it is at V or You Me At Six and any band that look and sound exactly the same as them like it seemingly is at R/L?

Joke of a line up. Worst I've seen since I started going (2008). Almost completely worthless other than The Cure and At The Drive-In.

Will pick up a cheap ticket if I can grab one for under £100 a few days before the fest.

friday, the cure, paramore, bombay bicycle, YM@6, crystal castles, deaf havana, maccabees, foster the people

saturday, kasabian, florence, vaccines, enter shikari, odd future, mystery jets, cribs, kieth allen

sunday, foo fighters, black keys, all time low, pulled apart by horses, justice, 2 door, horrors, subtract

Not so sure as it reminds me of a Hart Attack poster, but thought i'd share it :) If I'm wrong then sorry for wasting your time!

Hmm interesting most of the people saying the line up is poor are comparing it to the first time they went 10 years ago. Maybe you've changed not the festival ;)

Having said that ive only been going for 4 years and the headliners are great, and so is the nme but the main stage under card is a tad underwhelming

Another point black keys are subbing, they played a few nights at ali pali, and BBC are 3rd played one night at ali pali so maybe there not that out of place in terms of ticket sales

About 20 pages since I last posted before line up came out.

Extremely happy! Amazing line up

I do find a few of the placings weird/odd

- Courteeners, bombay bicycle club, the cribs

Last year at least had some interesting acts in The Streets and DFA 1979, and the classic festival bands like The Strokes, Pulp, Madness and Muse were all decent to great (yes i actually thought The Strokes were ok last year).

Other than The Cure and ATDI this years line up is just so fucking boring

Also whoever made the decision to put Crystal Castles on the main stage should be fired. They were unbelievable in the new NME tent last year. Can't imagine anything worse than them on the main stage. Not that type of band.

    • New Overmono album is... just good for me. Had high hopes which were later dashed a bit after listening to some of the singles but they brought me back around enough to appreciate some very nice work in there. https://music.apple.com/ie/album/pure-devotion/1894298100
    • I don't really worry about headliners (unless there's a real possibility of a once-in-a-lifetime artist landing for it) but I'm starting to feel a bit cold on the names floating around bar Fontaines.  Harry Styles and Sam Fender, I can see the value and commercially speaking, they've earned it.  Sabrina Carpenter is obviously popular enough to do it - but after she's headlined everywhere else and done Coachella earlier this year, is it not just a bit predictable to follow what other festivals have done?
    • Bollocks to “safe” headliners, bollocks to the masses. Get interesting, get risky, challenge people.
    • The Cure would be a dream, I can definitely see them doing a second run of festivals they may have missed this year and they seem the definitive Latitude act  If they do festivals next year maybe The Strokes could be a shout? Im stunned either them or Kings of Leon haven't played yet This is a great shout for names, youre right that CMAT is taking a year out though - we're like to know more in the autumn when festivals start making announcements  The only other act I'd really love to see is Idles headline the tent
