I reckon part of some peoples disappointment is the lack of bands in this first announcement. After last year 3/4 NME bands doesn't seem like that many. Plus more for the main stage and FR headliners. The whole lineup will look a bit more meaty when there are a few more bands added.

I agree one of the main problems with the line-up is, other than repeat bookings, it's uninspiring nature etc., the apparent gap, however i'd say it's more between second and third and would argue it was probably evident last year as well.

Realistically i'd slot in JATMC (okay, maybe not that realistic) and Jack White on Friday, Hot Chip and New Order on Sat and Tenacious and one other on Sunday.

Can I just throw out a couple of points...

I called Crystal Castles for Main-stage months ago. I'm taking credit for that.

I told most of you that Two Door would more than likely co-headline/sub... so a win there too.

the lineup is pretty poop really. The Cure are why i'm going. Obviously. Just so depressing i'll have to sit through Paramore again. Dogshite support for such an iconic band.

It's like FR are mocking me. I really like the Latitude lineup, but it's lacking a truly 'must see band' for me further up the bill that'll make me part with such a large amount of money, someone like The Cure. The fact that they're headlining Reading, but on a day where there's one other band I'd want to see (who I've seen loads before anyway) just makes things worse. Paramore's the worst surprise ever- I knew rumours of Pixies, Smashing Pumpkins et all were far too good to be true, but not Paramore.
