That’s the thing. He wont “hit”. His gigs are usually him on the keyboard playing barely recognisable tunes. I did see him do a Rain Dogs era Tom Waits style version of Master of War last time out. Really good!

To me comparing Bob Dylan to Lindsey Buckingham is like comparing chalk with cheese. Bob Dylan's vocal has for much of his career has been patchy - I mean when was it when he was forced to stop performing All I Really Wanna Do because he voice couldn't hack it?

Any Dylan any place is better than no Dylan no place. He is the most important recording and performing artist in the world (even if his shows are occasionally patchy).

There's room for him - if willie nelson can pull off a friday afternoon slot to separate corinne bailey rae and snoop dogg I think dylans management would be keen, and he would see it as something as a challenge..

With a TV slot guaranteed as with nelson, i guess its not about fees nor headlining, its getting his back catalogue out there for maximum coverage..

i would turn up

I reckon the most likely option is for Bob to play the London Feis festival, which is being organised by Vince Power, and sounds like it will be remarkably similar to the Fleadh festival which Bob headlined in 2004.

The person who's given this information on the Expecting Rain link is the best possible source for Dylan tour info. He's organised fan pre-sales for years for members of various Dylan fan sites through working directly with the UK Promoter.

Supposedly some information about line-up for that is coming out today, according to the article on eFestivals yesterday.

yep, good shout - I reckon that's most likely.

He always performs well in Cardiff. I saw him a few years back in Hammy Odeon and it was pretty bad. He wasn't exactly cooking at The Who's Quadrophenia show in Hyde Park either but all the other times I've seen him he's been excellent. My first time was Blackbushe in 1978 - nearly a quarter of a million there to see him.
