Bob Dylan

"Dates are waiting to be confirmed so there's nothing that can be said further other than it being a short spell from around 16th June to 1st July. Now you can start planning your holidays. One of the likely dates will be for a festival in the UK. It will not be Hop Farm but I do not yet know where or when, but can make an educated guess. Announcements about all these festivals should be made fairly soon."

Thank you to "The Original Dr Filth"

Here's to hoping it's Glastonbury.

I'm in two minds about whether I'd want to see Dylan now based on what people have said on here in previous years.

I think the fact that I'd go in this knowledge, means I'd be more open to it than some of my mates would, who'd just turn up expecting the original versions.

Yeah, it says a festival date in the UK doesn't it?

It seems Hard Rock Calling is the only one other than Glastonbury it could be, after ruling out Hop Farm.

I'm wary about his current performances, but I'd love to see him regardless. Even if I am disappointed.

His voice is fairly shot and he plays different versions of the tunes. You wont hear the Hurricane with His Bobness standing front and centre with a guitar screaming “DON’T FORGET THAT YOU ARE WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-ITEEEEEE”. I think people expect to see some 21 year old with big sunglasses singing Its All Over Now Baby Blue, snarling and giving lip to the crowd. That period lasted about 18 months and ended 45 years ago.

However, if youre open to it, it can be a good gig. I saw him on the Together Through Life tour and he was great. Played a near perfect version of Just Like a Woman and the new stuff is really good.

While Dylan's undoubtedly a main stage act in terms of the number of people who'll want to see him do the 'hits' and sing along to a recognisable version of Blowing In the Wind, I can't help but feel his natural environs is now somewhere more like The Park where people will be more open to the 'more liberal' interpretations to which he now more often than not subjects his songs. He's now a niche artist with a universally-known repertoire, which is an awkward sort of place to be.

Still - let's hope to hell this happens...

    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂

    • This Isaac wood news has dropped right out of left field. Great to hear he feels up to doing live stuff again    what will he play? Solo stuff , old BCNR stuff?    It’s only in November , it’s a bold booking to for someone who has previously had some struggles to come back and play a load of new stuff to crowds that big
    • Wow, Blink-182 back so soon. They’re the band they’ve never booked then. Great booking if they’ve got them.    Deftones, Papa Roach, Knocked Loose   Lamb of God   Blink-182, Avril Lavigne, Good Charlotte   Megadeth   Slipknot, Gojira, Motionless In White   All Time Low
