The big dance bands usually do draw big crowds. I'm sure the Chemical Brothers will draw a big crowd but Underpants aren't really in the same league. I would say that over 90% of Glasto punters don't know any other other tune of theirs apart from Born Slippy.

i love the chems..one of my fave artists and ill undoubtedly go and n watch when they play but have been underwhelmed both times iv seen them...

my main qualm is the way they never let the verses of their lyrics play...they condense it down to repetitive techno snippets...out of control for instance they just play the snippet 'outta control' and dont let any of the verse play which for me makes the tune a hell of a lot better...the same with a lot of the other tunes...

sorry that this is completely off topic but this thread seems to be mostly discussing dance acts now so I was wondering, would there be any chance of daft punk turning up at glastonbury in the future, or appearing at any other festivals this year? Have they played glastonbury in recent years?

Thanks :)

I can see the Primal Scream and Libertines being pretty solid shouts, be a nice alternative to the proposed shit on the main stage. Although I would of thought it would of been Leftfields turn to do the Sunday dance slot. Now that they are back and doing a few tours. if not a Glade headlining slot surely?

Would be great to see them at the Festival, saw them twice last year and they was the bollocks!

My first Glastonbury was 2002, where I discovered that I had a liking for the beep beep musics, on the strength of seeing Faithless and Kosheen again I went to Creamfields that year. That was my introduction to Underworld and to the dancing boy Karl Hyde, he has remained my hero ever since. They have never disappointed when I have seen them live, last time was the itunes festival at The Roundhouse last Summer. So I've waited nine years to see them at Glastonbury. I would prefer them outdoors, the Glade would be awesome!

In the same time span I've seen The Chems twice on the other stage and one dj set (which was amazing)and I would be more than happy to see them again, but surely it's Underworld's turn?

Primal Scream played the Pyramid before Basement Jaxx in 2005 if I remember rightly? No lasting impression of them playing at all, did I miss something?

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
    • Taxi mafia running their usual scam.
